Clomid and later period

by auntlugu, Jul 11, 2006 12:00AM
I was put on clomid to induce ovulation.  I was always VERY regular at 26-28 days.  Although i would spot for a few days before my period.  I took the clomid days 5-9.  A week before my period was due i started to feel cramps very slightly.  My period was due 3 days ago and nothing yet.  Very slight spotting but only if I check inside.  Pregnancy test was negative.  But now I am worried that the clomid may be messing up my cycles.  Although i used to spot i was always regular.  Anyone have any ideas....

Thanks

Clomid can make your cycles longer. Mine were 27-28 days, but with clomid, they are 31-32.

I never really had a regular period (any where from 33-38 days) but when I was on Clomid it was really out of wack, one month 29 days and another 40, but it was all worth it as I am now pg!

Hey Jules, just curious as to how out of whack your cycles were.  Mine were never normal before bcp, and now I have missed two cycles after going off.  I'm off to the doc next week, but how long did you wait before going on clomid.  My dh is going to be 37 (I'm 25) and we're want to have children soon. Do you think I should do the clomid...it obviously worked for you...

If I look back at it I kind of think my cycle being so out of wack was always a sign that I was not ovulating.  My doc said I should have gone to her earlier instead of wasting so many years.  I am 30 this year and wanted to be done with two by this stage. My suggestion is to anyone who has been trying for over 6 months to go for a blood test to find out if you are ovulating or not.  If you are, then what damage did it do.  Good luck.

I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one.  Like you, my cycles were always 26-28 days.....however I could not get pregnant.  Thankfully I do have one son, but he is already 11.  I got pregnant quick with him, but can't get pregnant now after two years of trying.

What side effects are you having from the Clomid?  Increased sex drive?

I'm three day before I would regularly start my period, but I'm having symptoms of being pregnant.  We'll stick together and everything will be okay.
