I thought that was interest too..esp since they give many moms that after c-sections

I was given it after birth with Joseph as well.....

Its given every single day, everywhere.  Must be a pretty rare type of reaction.  In Canada, its over the counter.

I was given straight codeine when I was having unproductive contractions when pregnant with my last daughter. They said I had an irritable uterus. I never liked taking it but all other pain killers didn't touch them. I took them for a few weeks. She's fine  but I wonder if the warning is also applicable to pregnant women or just nursing mothers. If they hadn't induced me I could have been taking them solidly for about 6 weeks. Scary thought.

Codeine makes me horribly sick to my stomach.  I can't take it at all.

They always have given me Percocet in the hospital for the nursing cramps....Is that safe?

Yes it isn't the best- my first few doses made me really ill too. It also made me constipated! Not great when you're the size of a house!! Ugh.
I'm looking forward to an uneventful last 3 months this time! (Fingers crossed)

yes it is a VERY interesting article. I often wondered how it could be perfectly safe for a nursing mother/baby to take it.  I took it throughout my pregnancy, even though I didn't want to, in order to get out of bed, I often wonder if that is why my dd was such a PUKEY baby when she was born? Other than that, she was/is perfectly healthy.
Just a little note though, Tylenol 3 is not over the counter drug in Ontario, Canada.  I had to have  a prescription for it.

I was also only given Percocet in the hospital for nursing cramps...I can't take  Codeine either, it really upsets my stomach and it made me kinda loopy, also I had bad dreams( I've only had it once when I was very sick with a cold...I wasn't pregnant/nursing though)..good to know, peek!
