Cold Cone Biopsy and Pregnancy

by SunnyJ, Mar 13, 2003 12:00AM
I had a Cold Cone Biopsy on my Cervix (after two cyro surgeries)about 2 years before I delivered my first child.  At 33 1/2 weeks of pregnancy my water broke prematurely.  The doctors were not sure why my water broke.  Could the Cold Cone Biopsy have caused my water to break prematurely?

Thanks!

I know a cone biopsy could cause a incompetent cervix (cervix unable to stay closed) which causes preterm labor, and also cervical stenosis (cervix scarred shut) which I aquired after the surgery.  Look into what an incompetent cervix is maybe that will help you.  I know that right now I am searching for more info on cervical stenosis and having a hard time finding info...but i saw a lot on imcompetent cervix issues.

My sister-in-law is scheduled for a Cold Cone Knife biopsy.  She has already been diagnosed with Cervical Cancer.  I'm wondering if the Cold Cone biopsy is necessary and will it hurt more than help her?
