Comments to debra_maine and KAV

Good morning...I want to thank you both for your words of encouragement!  Debra, you made me feel SO MUCH BETTER when you said that because the bleeding started AFTER I heard the heart beat, that it was not from the baby.  That was the most reassuring comment I've heard so far.  But then I went on to read comments by KAV and rking, who both said they miscarried AFTER hearing the heart.  So I am confused again.  Does hearing the heart really mean I can rest eaiser?  It seems like I have read in other forums where women who have heard the heart and seen the baby in ultrasound have gone for a later appt only to find out that the baby is no longer alive......

KAV, you also made me feel better about what your doctor said about bleeding can be normal.  A few days ago, I thought the spotting had almost completely stopped, but then it started again, and is actually a little heavier the last 2 days, more like a light period.  Of course, I am freaking again, but I felt a little better after what you said.  I guess my biggest question is will I definitely know if I do miscarry?  Will it be obvious by the blood or whatever else comes out?  It's really strange because there will be almost nothing for a few hours or longer, and then it will start again.

I see my doctor again tomorrow morning...I just pray that I can hear that beautiful little heart beating!!  I will be 13 wks/ 6 days tomorrow.  I just can't wait until I can really feel secure and ENJOY this pregnancy!!!!

You will definitely know if you miscarry.  The bleeding will get heavier and I had labor like contractions that started light and got heavier & closer together.  The "material" I passed was very noticeable.  Good luck at your next appt.  There's nothing like hearing that little heartbeat is there?

The hb is very reassuring.  With my bleeding the drs just said some women bleed.  While it is not a good sign, it may not mean that a pregnancy loss is imminent.  The u/s should be reassuring.  I've had several since my last bleeding incident, so am feeling much happier.  Am 15 weeks now!  Jennimom
