Concerned about ttc #2, advice

by susanelizabeth, Mar 24, 2005 12:00AM
I have a 13 month old daughter and soon my husband and I plan to try for #2.  I got pg with my baby girl very fast despite being diagnosed with PCOS (still not sure I even have it) and am currently on yasmin bcps but I'm worried I'll have trouble conceiving no. 2.  So I wondered is anyone had any advice on starting out ttcing?  Thanks

with PCOS you are more likely to get pregnant your first couple of cycles after you go off the pill... so bd like crazy those first few months... :o) low carb diets seem to help too.

for starters relax, you haven't even started trying yet.  don't freak and put your cart before the horse...the worst thing you can do is tense up and get worried about it before you even start.
my best advise is to relax and just let things happen (people seem to get pg faster that way)
good luck

Could you please specify what does PCOS stand for?
thanks

Thanks for your advice.  I shouldn't get all worked up.  We're not even ready to start trying right now (I'm maid of honor in a wedding in November) and I'm thankful for my little girl.  If it isn't in God's plan for me to have more children, it's not the end of the world.  I am just a chronic worrier by nature.  I am just 27 and I did get pg rather quickly so my guess is even if it takes time, it will most likely happen again (knock on wood).  It's just so hard not to worry a lot!

tell me about it. i have PCOS and had my first two in my early twenties very easily. around age 26 we started trying... and nothing....(PCOS typically gets worse with age and I also have insulin resistance and a thyroid problem- it's like a triple whammie) it took 3 1/2 years to conceive and after losing that one it took another 18 months to conceive (currently 17 weeks pregnant)so your concern is legitimate, but I truly believe that stress makes it worse so try not to worry- worrying never solved anything anyway (not that we don't all do it). If you have any questions as you go along let me know. i've researched PCOS way to much for my own good. hee hee. :o)
