Concerned about weight gain during pregnancy. How much have you gained?

Concerned about weight gain during pregnancy. How much have you gained?

I am 24 1/2 weeks pregnant and have gained 20 pounds.  I am normally 138, but was 143 when I became pregnant.  I am now at 163 1/2 and am concerned with how much weight I put on.

How much weight have you ladies gained?  Am I in the range?

I'm almost 23 wks...and So far I've gained 11.  At first i gained 16...then mysteriously lost 5...it was wierd..so my total has come to 11.  But i had some extra weight to start off with...So I've been VERY careful not too gain too much.  I don't think you're doing bad..my sister gained almost 60 with her first...And she managed to lose most of it in a fairly short amount of time.

I have gained 10lbs. I am 13weeks 4 days. I worried about this at first, but I can't help it. I don't eat too much junk (though I have been eating loads of sweet stuff, KitKats mainly).

Enjoy the pregnancy, there are so many other things to worry about, unless as you eat healthy and go for little walks you will be ok.

For Marcus I started at 146lbs and the week he was born I hit 205lbs.  My doctors didn't care and I ate good food 90% of the time. I just liked beef and ice cream.  Need protein and dairy, Right?

I lost it all within 6 months. Everyone is different, I never had any morning sickness or any food aversions. I saw it, I liked it.

I gained 17 lbs. total with both of my boys.  I was gd-so I had to watch what I ate.  Sometimes I took it to extreme with eating no carbs in a day.

I am 13 weeks and 3 days and have lost almost 10 lbs.  (I've been very sick this time around unlike my last 2 pregnancies which were boys...so I am thinking GIRL!)  With my sons I gained a total of 35-37 lbs. each time and they were kind of big so the weight was gone just weeks after having them.  My doctor acted like I was gaining alot gaining that much, but I don't think it was bad at all, I am tall and athletic built/on the thin side so I think it worked out fine.

I think the range should be between 25-35 in total.  It depends on your starting weight so you can find out which end you should be on.
I am 32 weeks now and I think I have gained 20-22 lbs.  At my last checkup at 28 weeks I gained 17.
Don't worry about it too much as long as you are eating healthy.  I found that most women gain at least 40 lbs and that seems to be the norm.
Breast Feeding will help you lose the weight fast too!
Good Luck!

I thought I was being cautious this time (with ds I gained sixty pounds) but I have already gained thirteen pounds at seventeen weeks.  Atleast I won't gain sixty pounds again :)

i am 32w6d and weigh 1 lb more than i did when i became preg.  i had some extra weight when i became preg. plus i have gd so i really watch what i eat.  i go to the dr twice a week and have for the last month, so they are keeping a very watchful eye.  thing is my little one is already around 5lbs and my belly is HUGE.  again, this is under strict dr.s care, even though i'm not trying to lose wt.  with my dd i gained about 21 lbs and with my ds about 12.  the norm is between 25-35 lbs depending on how much you weighed to begin with.  you sound like you are doing fine.  good luck to you and your little one.

The day I came home from the hospital with my ds, i weighed 14 pounds less than I did the day i found out i was pregnant, and my son was 9.8 lbs! I had marning sickness so bad, i actually lost "me" weight, but still gained "baby" weight. Once the baby was out, the baby weight was gone! The stretch marks hung around though...lol..

I found this site and thought it was pretty interesting. It explains where the weight you're gaining goes to, how much is too much, etc...
Of course, I don't know how much I'll go by this guide, as I eat pretty much what I want when I want. I'll worry about the extra weight when the time comes. That's what Jazzercise is for! LOL

With my son I lost 15 pounds to start and gained 23 overall.  It was so nice at the end I was only 8 pounds heavier than when I started.  I lost it so fast, but it was a rough first 20 weeks.  With my blighted ovum I lost 10 pounds before we realized at 11 weeks that there was no baby.  This time around I am still down 5 pounds, not nearly as sick and am at 12 weeks 3 days.  Thinking it may be a girl since this pregnancy has so far been much easier on me than the past 2.  I have friends that have gained more and some less, it just depends on your body.  A friend of mine gained over 70 pounds and lost most of it in the 4 months after baby up till she was in my wedding.  Another gained 50 punds with each baby and lost it just fine too.  Don't deprive yourself, just try to be healthy when you can.
