Confused OPK and CM

Confused OPK and CM

Can someone please shed some light on this issue for me??!!  I did an OPK yesterday morning and it was (-).  I thought I would do another one later in the day and it was (+).  Just to see how long the hormone is detected I tested again this morning and it was (-).  Can the hormone appear and disappear that soon?!?!  I have had a severe sinus infection for 7 days now and am taking antibiotics and a decongestant for it and my CM is not EWCM.  Could the meds be affecting my CM and if so could I possible still have a chance at conceiving w/o EWCM? One more thing...sorry if TMI, but my hubby and I bd'd last night and I checked my CM this morning.  It seemed EWCM but a little cloudy.  Could I be mistaking this with semen?  Please... any ideas would be appreciated.

Yes, it is possible to have a short surge. It is also possible to get a pos opk and not be ovulating. Which probably adds to your confusion. peeonastick.com has a chapter called "OPK Oddessy" look at her pics and you will see her short surge. I had 2 very definite pos opks this cycle pretty far apart. I think some are too sensitive for me. Some test as low as 20. Normal Lh range when not o is 5-20. Slight normal fluctuations turn mine pos. Yes, decongestants can interfere w/cm. Yes, you can get pg without seeing fertile cm. Sometimes it is still there, it's just contained at the cervix. Yes, it is easy to confuse semen w/cm. If stretches like eggwhites is cm. If stretches just a little then breaks, most likely semen.

I'm a little frustrated with the OPK thing.  The test this morning was done with FMU so I'm going to test again this evening and see what happens.  It's so hard to know what's positive and what's negative since it all seems to depend on the brand!  Also, on the other CM issue....I tested again just after lunch and it seems to be EWCM!!!  YIPPPEEE!!! :)  Maybe I'm in luck after all.  Thanks for your insight.  I appreciate it.
