Congested/pregnant what to take?

Hello everyone,First I would like to say I am almost 13 wks now & doing fine (pregnancy wise)I just got over a bad cold.And now I feel VERY congested!! My stomach is hurting & I cant keep anything down.I feel like I'm full of PHLEM (sorry tmi)& this morning I threw up alot(mostly Phlem & water)Now my ? is what can I take thats safe? I am drinking SOME water,but last night I felt it in my chest could'nt breath.Any advice would be great.Thanks..ADRIANA (*_*)

I've been having those sorts of problems all my pregnancy - and I've sort of resigned myself to them, since my doctor doesn't approve of any medications.

I've been told saline nasal spray helps, if used diligently. I haven't used it consistantly enough to know.

Sorry you're feeling so rough.  I know it's tough.  I've have 4 kids so I know how bad it can get when you're preg. and can't take anything for it.

When I was congested while pregnant I used Vick's salve.  You just rub it all over your chest and neck.  It is kind of stinky, but it really opens you open.  It helps with a cough also.  I believe my doctor also let me use benadryl for a runny nose.  You need to double check on that one.  I am sure that the Vicks medicated chest rub won't hurt you though.

I am having the same problem.  My doctor told me to take Tylenol Cold and Sinus for the congestion.  But if you are having trouble breathing because it feels like it's in your lungs you might want to see the doctor.  Mine turned out to be Bronchitis.  They gave me a prescription and an inhaler.
