Could it be?

Could it be?

I am just looking for some opinions on my situation really.  I normally start my period somewhere between the 5th and 7th of every month l but it is now the 16th and still no period. Around the first of the month I started have cramps, almost like my period only slightly lighter, less painful.  Those have continued off and on since then.  That is around two weeks of cramps with no period! On the 8th, or maybe 9th, I began getting nausea and what seemed like a slight fever and soon slight light headedness.   I decided maybe I was just sick which would postpone my period.  However, it has been going on for 1-2 weeks for the different symptoms and I just dont feel right...I dont just feel sick.  I did take a pregnancy test on Monday which was the 12th and it was negative.  I have another test but I am not sure if I should take it yet or wait.  Do these things seem plausible that I am pregnant? I am just asking because I don't really have any one to talk about this stuff with other than my fiance so I'm just looking for opinions and maybe even some support! Thank you!

Hi!
Yes, it could be pregnancy. . If urine pregnancy test is negative then go for a blood pregnancy test. A blood HCG estimation test would be most reliable. If the test is negative then you are not pregnant. If it is borderline, repeat after a week to see if the levels are rising. Rising levels indicate pregnancy. If this too is negative then other causes of delayed or missed periods will have to be looked at such as stress whether emotional or physical, hypothyroidism, polycystic disease of the ovary, pituitary tumors secreting prolactin, anemia and poor diet, hormonal imbalance, unexplained or sudden weight gain or weight loss. At times an ectopic pregnancy can cause cramps and a negative test, and this needs to be ruled out on an urgent basis. You will need to consult a gynecologist for this. Take care!
