Cramping and low back pain ...

I just found out on Tuesday I am pregnant with my second. I am having some cramps and crazy low back pain.  I am only worried because I didn't have but one problem when I was pregnant the first time.  I had a sac rupture when pregnant with my daughter but she was just fine.  I do not know how far along I am because I was on birth control. I have to see the nurse educator before I am allowed to see the dr.  They will do the vag. ultrasound to determine dates but until then can anyone tell me if this is normal.  No bleeding with the cramps and these are worse than a period.  I am also having problems going to the bathroom.  I was very normal before baby and wondering if anyone has any suggestions at all.  Thanks much Amber

Mild at times and worse at other times.  When I turn around to wipe when going to the bathroom I get like sharp pulling which I never experienced with my first.  I guess this one will just be different.  Cramps are on and off they kept me awake a couple of night from discomfort but like I said I am not able to go to the bathroom normal now either.  Help.

Can you describe the cramps a bit more (i.e. mild or double-over kind?). Cramps and lower back pain are completely normal, but the pain should not be incredibly intense. I am over five weeks and have been cramping and having back pain for a while! Good luck!

It might be something unrelated to the pregnancy.  Maybe you can schedule with your general practitioner and get an appointment sooner than with the nurse in ob.
