Here is the situation. DD will be 18 months when baby #2 is born. We don't want to buy another crib b/c once DD is out of hers, what do I do with 2?? I was planning on keeping the newbornNewborn jaundice in the bassinett for about 3 months (DD will be 21 months by then). Anyone have any advice on what to do?? Thanks.
Well you could try moving your oldest into a toddler or twin bed around that time or do you have a portable crib, like a play yard? You could always have the baby sleep in that until your oldest feels comfortable in a big girl bed. By oldest dd was 23 months old when her littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys sister was born and for that last few months of being prego I had her start taking her naps on her "BIG" girl bed and that way, well at least for me, it was easier to get her to sleep in the bed at night. You'll figure out what will work best for you, being a mom, we always know the answers, we just need the supportSupport Support 500 to back it up. :o)
yeah, we do have a pack-n-play but I'm not too fond of the mattress. I'll have to think something for the mattress (maybe change it) but the new baby should be fine in it until he/she's 6 months or so. Thank you for the idea.
My son is 20 months right now and I'm due in Jan. We bought a convertible crib at Walmart for really cheap. That way he can still be in his crib and when he is ready it turns into a bed. It wasn't money I wanted to spend but I started him sleeping in it now so he didn't feel the new baby took his bed.
Babies R Us sells a mattress that fits perfectly in the pack n play. I tried using it at first with my dd,..but agree..it is very hard. My mil bought a foldaway crib/mattress at babies r us and well....we took the mattress b.c it's fits PERFECTLY in the pack n play...which my dd loves sleeping in when we are traveling.
I used the baby comforter over the "matress" in the pack-n-play and Nadezdha liked that a whole lot more. It provided more padding. This is of course when she isn't sleeping in our bed (lol right that hasn't been happening lately).
Actually thats exactly what I did... my daughter who was 21 months when he was born I just let him sleep in the bassinet in my room and she still slept in here crib and on Dec 7 she'll be 2 so my mother bought her a toddler bed and he will use the crib when she gets that... fyi he sleeps in bed with me .. can't help it
