I'm going for a d&c this thursday as I had a miscarrage (miscarriage) last thursday. I went for a sonogram yesterday and I passed most of it on my own but there is a few things left so the doctor wants to go ahead with the d&c anyway. I've had 3 pregnancies 2 abortions 1 live birth. This was my 4th pregnancy, only one I had a miscarriage with. I've heard from a few people that after having a d&c they actually got pregnant faster. That it cleans you out leaving like a brand new slat for getting pregnant again. Is this true? As I know alot of women on here have had a D&C before. I just don't understand how it could clean you up so well and make it easier to get pregnant. Does anyone have any information about this? Thanks

I'm not sure.  I've had 3 m/c this year - 2 natural and one which ended in a d&e on 9/29.

My drs told me that after my procedure to wait until the New Year- Jan as having the surgery is much harder on the body and uterus than a natural m/c.  With my natural m/c I was told to wait 1 cycle...now it's 3 due to the procedure.

It is deferent with each one of us, but what they probably ment, your HCG levels will go down much faster after having D&C then not having one. You can not get prego until your levels go down to 5 or less. Also, some people ovutale before having first AF after D&C and some dont. It does not nessesary means you will get prego right a way. I did not. Most Dr. also advise to wait 1-3 AF cycles for everything to get back to normal and strong enough to hold a healthy prego. Good luck and so sorry about your m/c.

My Dr told me that it's not true that it's easier to get preg right after m/c or d&c. I'm supposed to wait 2 cycles to ttc.
