DD gets HYSTERICAL around shoes

DD gets HYSTERICAL around shoes

DD is almost 13 months old and she gets hysterical when she sees shoes or when we're trying them on in the store.  I know we shouldn't have waited this long to get her to wear them but we were waiting, foolishly, for her to come around b/c she was like this since she was 9 months old (now I know that it was so silly of us).  What do we do to make the transition smoother?  I can't even try a pair of shoes on her b/c she screams and kicks.    I've got to get them on her somehow and hopefully they'll stay on (something tells me she'll pull them off).  *Sigh*  Please, I'll try anything at this point!

Well, i dont know if this would help, but Kennedy has a pair of pink "high heals" they are her princess shoes and she wants to waer them ALL the time. Maybe you could find her a "pretty" pair or a pair with something that she likes on them. (like a charcter of some sort) Its tought when they are that little yet. Is she walking? Maybe if all else fails, give it a little while yet. I never had this problem really as Kennedy was in shoes from birth on everyday. Now we just go thro so many pairs when she throws them out the window while driving down the highway. ugh!

P.S. Sometimes the pretty decorated shoes (the ones you dont want her to wear in public) they get them used to actually wearing shoes and having them on their feet. just a thought =)

Soft shoes, like Robeez?  They are a lot like socks.  (Will she wear socks?)

Robeezs are awesome!  Just got a pair with lizzards and GAvin likes them on and they won't come off.  They are CUTE and about $30.00 per pair.

Yes, exactly.  I bought mine at Dillards' baby dept.  They are about $30.00 a pair.  They really don't come off and are so cute on.  I've seen similar types at Target but never tried them.

All of our Dillards stores just recently closed. So if i get them she should have an easier time walking with them instead of reg shoes?

Every child is different so I can't tell you if she is going to walk with them.  Robeez don't come off easy like socks but they are a lot easier to put on and they are so comfortable.  You can give it a try on the similar ones they sell at Target.  I think they are around $12-15.
