DECOGIRL, This may help with your BF Supply

I have nused all three of my little ones. My first weighed in at 10.1 when he was born. I started back to work when he was 2 months & would pump while at work. After a few months he started needing more than I was making. (He was over 20lbs @ 6months) So I called my dr. to see what or if there was anything I could take to help my supply. They prescribed me a medication that had to be compounded. I can't remember the name of it now, but I can get it if you are interrested & your dr. doesn't know of it. Anyway, it worked GREAT!! The directions said to take four pills daily, but I only took two & had plenty of milk for my son & probably another baby or two!! :) I could only imagine what it would have done had I taken the prescribed amount! It was expensive though, and insurance at that time (2002) did not cover it. You should certainly look into it. It was great & I'd use it again. They also say metoclopramide (reglan) helps to boost your supply, but that can also cause constipation. I didn't want to chance it & I think this other med probably works better. It's probably Motilium (or domperidone). It can only be compounded in USA or can be ordered w/out prescription from Canada from www.globaldrug.tv. I paid $40 for 300 pills. It has worked for me even though I haven't pumped as much as I should. I leak at night now, which hasn't happened since the first 2 weeks!
