DR'S APPOINTMENT

So i posted about my mucous plug coming out a few days ago. I went to the dr's yesterday and he said that I wasn't dialated to 3 like he was hoping for at this point. But the baby's head is in position and heart sounds great, my hemogloban levels are outstanding. But... if im not dialated to 3 at this point, does that mean that labor is not close? Am I still really far away from seeing my baby boy? Technically, he isn't due until the 29th of this month. But I am considered full term and honestly, and I don't mean to wine about it, but Im so very very very uncomfortable and Im ready!!! Can my water still break at any time? Could I start having contractions at any time? Let me know what you think.

You could go into labor at anytime.   My water broke and I wasn't dilated at all.   Why was he hoping you would be dilated to a 3 when you aren't due till the 29th?

i guess He expected me to start dialating since my mucous plug and how far along I am. I dont know, He just said that which made me kind of worry.

Hey, I was wondering about you yesterday and if you did got into labor.

For DS I was dilated to 1 cm, he stripped my membranes, and my water broke the next afternoon.  For DD I was dilated to 2 cm, he stripped my membranes, and I started labor contractions about 36 hours later.

You do not have to be over 3 cm in order for labor to begin.  It can begin at any time.  It's really anyone's guess at this point because everyone is different, but if I had to guess I'd say you'll get to at least 39 weeks before anything will happen regardless of you losing your plug already.  But, that's a total shot in the dark.

I had my mucus plug came out 2-3 weeks before I had my baby.  They say it rebuilds itself if the baby is not ready.  I wan dialated maybe a 1 but so plug alone is not a good indicatior of when your baby will come.  My water broke 10 days before my due date.  It will happen when your boy is ready. Hang in there.

My mucus plug came out almost two weeks ago and I am dilated to 3cm but still no baby (I am due in a few days). I've had my doc do a membrane sweep twice but to no avail. I was hoping to go into labor way before now, but it looks like I may need to be induced next week if nothing happens before then :( I know what the last few weeks are like...very long indeed. Hang in there..maybe you will be one of the lucky ones who has their water break a bit early.
