Darn OPK's! You guys were right

Darn OPK's! You guys were right

After several people saying the "ANSWER" brand was **** and knowing I'm around surge time I just went and got a clearblue easy. Sure enough, I'm having my surge today! Glad I double checked!
How long does the surge stay positive? Is it possible my surge started a couple days ago and I'm just now finding out?

Thanks ladies :)

When you get your positive surge you're suppose to ovulate within the next 24-36hrs.

When you get your surge it is 24-36 hours before its released BUT...did you test yesterday or today or when was the last time you tested?

I have been testing everyday with ANSWER and no surge. I even tested this morning and nothing. Just now tested with Clearblue easy. I do realize I may not have been surging this morning. I'm gonna test again with ANSWER when I get home and then I'll know if it really doesn't work well.

Walk away from the Answer Opk's. You're treating it like an old boyfriend.. you know its bad for you, yet you keep going back lol! Just stick with the clearblue easy results they're the better test anyway. Good Luck!!!!

I used the Answer brand.  never had a problem.  You are supposed to test in the afternoon.  So maybe this is why you got a negative.

Glad to hear all the advice. I have thought about using these but was confused on what to use. I used just an Eckard brand & never got a result.

I also think Answer brand is terrible.  I didn't get a surge with answer but I had one with Clear Blue!  The next day I also had one!  I know you're only supposed to test once, but I had two days of surging.....with lots of BDing...  is that normal?  I detected what I thought was a surge on day 12, then on day 13 it was a teeny bit darker ....so definitely a surge.

Good luck

Answer OPK's worked for me and I got pregnant because of them!

Answer Opk have not worked for me at all. I have heard that doctors only recommend clearblue.

Nope...I just got home and tried the ANSWER test and no surge...not even a hint of a surge.
That is so strange. Obviously CBE is more sensitive.

This is defintely a surge right? I read somewhere that they blue line has to be 50% dark from left to right.

I just posted this somewhere else: remember to have some fun about 5 days before the surge (yes, it's difficult to know when), but my hubbie and I did this on OB's advice, and voila-13 wks pg right now!  Really, we pretty much had fun the 7 days in a row leading up to the surge, then a couple of days of it.  That was the trick!  If you read around, too, articles will tell you that once you surge per the OPKs, it is likely too late.  The sperm will stay alive for up to 3 days inside, so doing it before ups your changes.  Good luck!
