I've been reading all the posts of the ladies that are counting down their last few weeks until deliveryC-section Delivery presentations Infant care following delivery and those that have delivered within the past week or so and I'm getting jealous. Im so miserable w/my all-day sickness and wondering if there were any other mommies to be out there due around my time-12/31/07 that might be at the same stage of the game.
Also, does anyone know if there is anything my doctor can prescribe to ease the sickness. I have my visit on thursday and want to be ready with my list of requests. lol This is my third baby. I was 19 and 20 when i had my boys, i dont know how the hell i made it. I feel like an old womanWomen's way at 28. Maybe this is my girl and this is a sign of all the headache i will be in for. Maybe this is my payback for all the headache i gave my own mother. -this is the only thought bringing me through, because seriously, i dont know how im going to make it until December.
Any morning (all-day) sickness suggestions?
To all the December mommies, maybe we can keep in touch since we have one big thing in commonCommon cold.
Seems like most ladies in here are due this summerSummers eve anti-itch.
I am due June 29th, but I know where you are coming from!!!!!!!
I also had ALL DAY "morning sickness" - a very bad case of it! I was sick (like "throw up several times at work sick" and "had to pull the car over on the side of the road so I could throw up sick"!!!) from basically the moment I got pregnant until the 14th week. I really feared that it would NEVER go away and lots of people told me it would, but I was worried anyways that it would be like that for 9 months... Luckily they were right and it did go away!!!
I didn't take anything for it... I just listened to my body and ate what I wanted and whatever felt appetizing...which most of the time was pasta! (sometimes it worked, and sometimes I still felt sick) On thing that I had to stay away from was carbonated drinks - anything carbonated made me feel horrible.
Unfortunately I don't have a magicMagic bullet solution for you - but hang in there and hopefully it will be gone in a few weeks!
And you dont have to be jealous of the summerSummers eve anti-itch moms - six months ago, we were right where you are :)
You sound like me!!! I am due Dec. 11, and My morning sickness (which was actually all day, but terrible at night and so bad I threw up from dinner time to bedtime)...I must tell you these past few weeks have felt like hell, and I knew 2 women who gave birth last week, and I cried and cried about it because I feel so lousy and their journey is done and I am still in the beginning...I wished I could be that close to the end, I want my baby in my arms so badly...I feel like Dec is such a long way ofF! Although, I must say that my 2 year old is keeping me busy this time around(This will be my second child), so the past few weeks feel like they have flown by...Also, my sickness is starting to subside little by little, and it is getting better, even though I thought it never would..Unfourtunately, if you are as bad off as I was, There has been nothing I have found to ease this...I have tried every old and new trick in the book, but ultimately When I felt like throwing up, throwing up was the only thing that make that feeling go away...Right now, I still have dry heaves sometimes during the day and I still throw up a few times before bed..I can suggest that keeping food in your stomach helps..If I go too long w/o eating, my blood sugar drops and The nausea gets really bad...Right now I am struggling w/ being emotinally, crying at every little thing, sore boobs, back ache, trouble sleeping...and the fact that I am pregnant, and nobody can tell...I have all the awful parts of pregnancy and none of the perks yet! (getting to cut the bathroom line, if they let me, people constantly congratulating me, knowing what I am having so I can buy things, etc..) Hang in there, that is all I am doing and I can only take it day by day..in a few months we will be complaining about all the weight we have gained, strangers poking us in the belly...it never ends! Keep in touch so we can compare notes :) ~BOPs
im due mid dec. i threw up my pancakes the other morning in the shower because i tasted soap and it made me sick lol. my bloating is gone today, and i have lost a pound. ill be 10 weeks tomarrow. i have to go see maybe my pants fit better again!!! im ok with waiting till dec. too much going on here , my summer will be very busy with my son :)
I am due the middle of January and I am hating this morning sickness although at the same time loving it because I am told it is signs of a healthy pregnancy and the lst time I was pregnanct I miscarried and didnt make it to all this. What they call morning sickness is all day sickness for me as well and I hate it. I eat and I feel better for about 15 minutes, I dont eat and my tummy is barking at me telling me to put something else inside...Its sucks and I hate it but I love being pregnant and knowing what beautiful thing I will get from it. Think of the positive. I just spoke to my doctor and I was told to try ginger or ginger root and even some sickness pressure wristbands or something you can by and wear on your wrist to try and hold back the nauseated feeling. I dont throw up as much as I do just feel nauseated all day long. GOOD LUCK!!! Keep in touch :o)
I am due mid Dec. Mine was just so bad last week I missed a flight and had to eventually get on meds. I wasnt able to keep anything down and couldnt stop vomiting even though there was nothing left. I am now on Zofran. It has definitely curbed it. I didnt want to take anything but I had to, I was couch ridden. So if it is really bad I would consider it, but it is really expensive. If you can tough it out try.
You sound just like me. In fact we're due the same day. I am sick all day long so sick in fact that my doctor prescribed me drugs so I could get something down. Only problem is that the medicine is also for sleep disorders so if I take it I dont feel sick... but I'm also not awake either. Makes it difficult when you have to work.
I am due December 31st too!! But I'm having twins so they'll likely come a little early. I hear ya about the m/s. Mine is a morning, noon and night sickness. A lot of days I can barely get up off the couch. Nothing is helping. I've not tried the sea bands yet but will get some today. I can't take the Phenergan prescribed for me during the day b/c I have a 4 year old ds to take care of. I'm hoping I only have about 4 more weeks of this, but I've heard with twins that it can last the whole time. I am so miserable, too.
There are several prescription meds you can be given by your doc. Most of them will make you sleepy. I guess it is a trade-off and all depends on which you value more - being alert or not puking. :) I was given Reglan - which helps empty your stomach contents faster (digestion slows during pregnancy and contributes to nausea). I was also giving Phenergan which works, but can make you really sleepy. The best, hands down, is Zofran - the miracle drug. However, unless you get free meds or have a great prescription drug benefit can be really expensive. As in, hundreds per week. If you have a plan that allows you a basic prescription benefit, like say 20-40-60, it can be done. This stuff works and doesn't knock you out too bad.
There are other drugs I have heard of as well that are similar to Phenergan, but I think these are the most common. The Unisom and B-6 combination (non-prescription) seems to work for a lot of women as well. I do not believe that morning sickness is something to just suffer through. Lots of healthy babies have been born whose mothers got help from nausea meds. And, if you are non-stop puking and not keeping down food, you can progress to hyperemesis gravidarum and end up hospitalized on IV fluids (happened to me.) Let your doc help you get it under control.
Best wishes and I hope you start feeling better soon.
I, too, am having all day MS. I've been down this road before so I know that it will subside in a mere 6-7weeks! Ha!
My doc gave me a list of safe meds to take while pregnant. For MS she listed B-6 and/or Unisom w/ B6. I have NOT tried it (I'm trying to stick it out) and I would definitely check with YOUR doc before taking anything -- just thought I'd throw it out there.
Thanks to all that responded. I honestly know from my first two pregnancies that the sickness doesnt last (for me) the entire time. But still, i cant remember feeling THIS bad before. I also didnt work full time either, so that may be the difference. I was able to sit around all day. Now, come 12, its just a matter of how much longer i can make it. I've been leaving around 2ish -3ish every day. my bosses are never here, and they are really cool understanding (men-go figure) plus i have a work cell in case they need me. I just hope this is over within the next few weeks. I've even told my fiance i dont think we are going to have anymore (together) i already have my 2 boys plus this new bundle. He has none so we figured we'd have 2 or 3 together. I told him forget that! One is enough. Better pray for twins.
But you two, lovethebops & pertykitty had me dieing. I needed the laugh, I read your posts and couldnt stop laughing. Especially the visual of throwing up pancakes in the shower. OMG that is hilarious. At least you didnt mess up your clothes. lol At least you are eating though. I've had an extra large cup of kool-aid this morning and 5 pickle spears dipped in sour cream for lunch. Im having trouble finding things to eat. But i am making sphagetti for dinner, so maybe that will be good for me. - ttyl
