Depo Prover, and getting pregnant

Hello I was on Depo Provera for 5 years recently got off the shot last year on my birthday and have been ancously waiting to concieve (conceive). Am I doing something wrong? I got my period shortly after getting off the shot it only took about 2 months and I have been wondering if my body is not responding or if I'm doing the wrong things. My doctor says I'm perfectly healthy as well as my partner. but still nothing. Can you help me??

I grately appreciate it

It can take 12-18 months for Depo Provera to get out of your system.  Some people do get pregnant right away after stopping the shot...but the majority dont.  Have you had your hormone levels tested?  Are you having a period every month? If not you may not be ovulating.  If you are have you tried BBT charting?  To help you know when you ovulate so you can BD around that time period.  It may take a couple months to figure out when you O but then you will know to BD a couple days before O and every other day after.  But it can take a healthy couple a year to conceive and the chance of getting pregnant each month is around 25%.

I was on Depo Provera also. I got my first and last shot last November (only got the shot to stop my period for 3 mnths to regulate iron).  In March, when I was supposed to get the next shot, I decided not to b/c I wanted to ttc right away after getting married, but it took about 4 months for my periods to become regular again.  From March-July, I was bleeding twice a month and sometimes for 2 weeks at a time. I just started having regular periods in July.  I was also told that it could take up to 18 months to get completely out of your system. So you are probably not doing anything wrong but, you really should try the OPK or bbt to make sure you are Ovulating.  I'm pretty sure I ovulate, but no baby yet.  However, I am in tww. So, i'm hopeful this time! Good luck to you.

I was on the shot for only a year before I decided to stop taking it and I ended up having to get on the pill in order to regulate my cycle and I did finally get pregnant in Aug (13 months later) but it ended in a m/c 6 wks ago. The shot can really reek havic on your cycle. Good Luck

*THIS IS JUST MY STORY WITH THE SHOT AND TRYING TO GET PREGNANT.*
well I was on the shot for 2&1/2yrs. Then was told not to take the shot no longer than 2 yrs because it weakens your bones. Also my dr told me that it could take me UP TO 5 years to get prego. b/c where i was on it for so long. And since then i have had 3 miscarrages and lost them all with in the first 6 weeks. Now prego again with the 4th and have been put on progestrome supp.(sp?) and monday i will be 15 weeks. Plus i am on 81mg of baby asprin to thin my blood. (This is what the dr was saying why i keep losing all my babys. because of a blood cloting thing i have)  hopefully this will not be your case and you will consieve very fast and have a great pregnancy. BEST OF LUCK.
*PLUS i had bleeding for the first year of getting the shot and the first year of not getting the shot. it was HELL! But they say every woman is different. But again the very best of luck.

I got my first shot on depo provera about 2 months ago.
Even though i was on it i still got my period. So far i had it twice, on a regular basis.
Since i got my period, it seems as if i might still be ovulating. Does having your period on depo increase your chances of gettin pregnant? If so, how long should i wait until i start trying to conceive?
