Diaper Pails and such

Diaper Pails and such

Hi everyone! So I'm 32 weeks now and I've pretty much gotten all of the items I need except the bathing/diaper items. I've seen many diaper pails and was wondering which one works best and is the cheapest?

**I hope everyone is doing okay, It's 95-97 degrees over here in NC/VA. :)

I'm going to have to recommend the Diaper Dekor. It is simple, clean and easy to change bags :0 Congrats!

Diaper pails-
I just use a small trash can lined with grocery bags. It's cheap, and I just take it out whenever she has a poopy. I hated the diaper genie. More trouble than it was worth.

I agree with myproblem.  I hated my diaper genie.  At least I didn't spend $$ to get it (got it as a present).  I ended up getting very small plastic shopping bags and putting a poopy diaper in them, and throwing them out like that (so it doesn't smell).  The cheapest and most effective way (in my humble opinion).

i have the diaper champ and i really like it. it's very easy to use and unlike the diaper genie you can use any type of garbage bag. so no buying special bags! i'm not to sure of the price, maybe 25 to 35ish? my ds is 9 1/2 mos old and we change the bag 2-3 times a week so it holds a good amount of diapers.

Thank you for all your comments :) I always have heard so much about the diaper genie and diaper champ but I've heard bad and good things about both so i wasn't sure if there was a effective one out there! And we don't have trash pick up here :( Thank you for all your comments and i hope everyone is doing well.

I used the safety first pail.  It is for disposable diapers--it used regular trash can bags.  I always bought the cheap ones that still had deordorizer on them--it worked great--no twisting or trying to tie bags--It usually lasted about 4 or 5 days before I had to change the bag.  Also did not smell the whole room up when you had poopie diapers in it.  Well worth the money.

I have a diaper Genie II and I like it alot.  I got it at Target, and it said on the box that it only takes one hand instead of two like the original one.  It's easy to use and doesn't smell up the room.  I also got a baby bath that comes with a sprayer that is battery opperated, I really like it.  I bought it at Kmart, I don't know who else carries them but you can rinse the baby with fresh water instead of water that is all soapy from the bath.

I assume you mean for cloth diapers?  If you're using disposable diapers, then any trash can with plastic sacks can be fine, as the ladies say, since there is no reason to have a messy diaper hanging around for a week waiting for the diaper service (or for a day or two waiting for you to wash it, LOL.)  You can just take the plastic sack out to the trash whenever there is a smell to the trash.  For cloth diapers I use the Diaper Dekor as mentioned by the first poster, it's really good for preventing smells coming back into the room.  Just be sure you fold the mess inside the diaper before putting the diaper into the little top opening so you don't get any on the outside of the top opening.

I just got a small trash can with a lid.  its 10.00 at wal mart and very versitile..  I figured it woudl be used after the baby is potty trained too..  I hated the diaper genie too much work..  and hated to pay for refills..  LOL
