Diaper Rash or is it??

by victoria83, Apr 21, 2008 04:52PM
My ? is my daughter will be one on the 28thof this month. she got this "rash" 2 fridays ago, i waited unitill the flowing monday to see if it would clear up on its own. but didnt so i called her nurse, she told me by the i was explaning everything over the phone it sounds like she had a yeast infection, so she sent in a percription for a yeast infection. and then said, "If it doesnt clear up at all come in and see  the dr. and she will perscribe something elts." so two days later i went in, (it didnt clear up at all) and her dr. gave her this stuff called miracle cream. and it started to clear up BUT not gone yet. we have been putting that on the area of the rash.
we changed her diaper wipes, to the HUGGIES  senitive wipes. we use the cream, let her "air dry" after a bath for 15mins like the dr told me to, just put a gown and panties on her. (and watch her like a hawlk, if she pees in the floor. lol) my question is could she be alargic to her diaper all of a suddin? we have used LUVS since she was around 3months old. i have heard of people's babies being alargic to the blue lining in the LUVS is that really possible and if it is the problem why is it just now starting to show up.  she goes to the dr. on her birthday i  just love yalls advice. THANKS

yep, get rid of the luvs, go with Huggies supreme and I bet it gets better. I had the same problem with Pampers with my two older boys and when I switched, the rashes healed. It was at the same time as yours, right at 1 year.

If you have a Kroger, they have a store brand that works well and is much cheaper than Huggies Supreme. Also Safeway has a store brand diaper that doesn't irritate the tush either.

Yeah, the Kroger diapers are cheap and work pretty well. My two older boys got bleeding rashes from Pampers, it was awful We treated my oldest for weeks with different creams, wipes, etc. I changed everything...but the diapers. One day it occurred to me it may be the diapers. I bought the Kroger ones and bam, it cleared up. When we started noticing the same with my middle one before it got to the bleeding point, we changed again. I love pampers until a certain point. Then they have to go!
