Dietary Supplements and Breastfeeding

by verystressed07, Jul 04, 2007 12:00AM
Hi, I'm 36 weeks pregnant with twins and next week I have a schedules c-section. Right now I'm 87 lbs overweight all together including excess weight I had from my first pregnancy. I'm planning on breastfeeding while I try to lose weight. I have come accross these dietary supplements that seem like they would be effective. One of them is Colon365 cleanse System which is an a set of all natural supplements that cleans out your system of excess weight.

The Colon365 system consists of the following products:

COLON365 CLEANSE

Ingredients: Psyllium husk powder, Gelatin (capsules), rice powder, vegetable stearin, magnesium stearate, silica.

Colon365 Detox
Ingredients: Oregon Grape (root), Milk Thistle (seed), Yellow Dock (root), Red Root, Dandelion (root), Fringe Tree (bark), Ginger (root), De-ionized water, pure grain alcohol.

COLON365 MAINTAIN
Ingredients: Flax seed, Proprietary Probiotic Blend, Bifidobacterium longum ME, Pediococcus acidilactici ME, Fructooligosaccharides, Larix occidentalis arabinogalactan fiber, Indole-3-carbinol, Milk protein extract, Colostrum, magnesium stearate, cellulose, vegetable stearin and silica.

Their website has more detail about what the supplements do, https://secure.curbyourcravings.com/s-Colurb365/op?notrack=1&t=colon365

I want to post this question in one of the doc. to patient forums but I don't know which one to post it in. I'm really desperate to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight but I don't want to try a crash diet.

One supplement that worked for me when I was in high school is Noni Juice which is an antioxidant, here's their website: http://glacialmilk.net/products_noni.htm

As much as I want to lose weight, I want to be able to breastfeed since I know that's best for them. I breastfed my one-year-old daughter for 9 months and she is very healthy. Thanks.
