My DD just turned 2 (28 months old). I just potty trained her and now she knows how to take her clothes off and change clothes. She goes through 3-5 outfits and lots of underwear. As soon as I get her ready for the day it starts. She throws a fit if I try to put her clothes back on her. She would just love if I let her run around without clothes on. I constantly battle with her all day about it. She has so much laundry and I'm going crazy!
What do I do? Is there anything that I could do to make it easier for both of us? How do I keep her clothes on and from changing her clothes?
Thanks
when you figure it out let me know!! I went thru that with my now 7 year old, it was tuff and she still changes panties 2 times a day, I have no idea why, I guess she likes to stray clean. God bless
Well I guess I have to get used to it. I know she likes to stay clean because if her shirt has a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys piece of dirt on it she has to change it.
Yes that is the way Aspen is too, it drives me crazy but she does like to be clean! That is actually how I potty trained her, at 2 years old I bought her these really frilly cute Tommy Hilfiger panties, she peed in them 1 time and she never did it again (maybe an acident getting to the potty) but never out and out peed in them. Have a blessed day :-)
Ds did this at 2--I bought the one-piece cotton snap-up-the- front sleepers (not really sleepers because they are cotton, but they had long sleeves and long pants, but not feet in them and I bought them at KMart and WalMart--like these: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5007037) and I put them on him backwards. Not good if they are running to the potty on their own, but ds wasn't doing that at two (when he was constantly removing his clothes and diaper), so it worked for us.
Can you put her clothes out of reach or in a closet high up or locked? That way she must ask you for clothes and you can help her decide if new clothes are necessary. I imagine all the work, she'll get tired of it quickly. Or you can lay out 2 outfits per day- tell her that's it one or the other so if both get dirty (w/ like the littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys piece of dirt you spoke of) well, that's it. Hope it helps....
If you are not going anywhere for the day-just staying in the house and are not uncomfortable with her being nakes--let her run around that way. She will then get tired of that and will probalbly stay in her clothes than longer. I am just guessing I have two boys and they don't care if their clothes are dirty or not. They would were a wet diaper all day long if I let them.
2 year olds love to yank mummy's chain, just relax, as long as she is dressed when you go out, no one will think you a bad mum.
Oh and another trick. Get a dressup box, that way she won't be constantly in her closet. Just make it a rule that if she wants to change it has to be from the tickle trunk. Fun outfits will ensue!!

She's getting dress up clothes for Christmas. So it'll be interesting to see how it goes.
