Docs suspect Eptopic..HCG levels in...what do you think?

Hi girls, well i just got my HCG levels. They were at 1565. They said this is not too bad if i was in early pg..as in 5wks + no more than 6wks. But they also said there scan machine detects a pregnancy at levels of 1500.  So im only 65 out..right?
The scan yesterday showed nothing, not even a sack so they are treating it as eptopic?
I go back in tomorrow to have the test repeted, to see if the levels double. I read that they went up 65% in 48 hours and doubled in 72? Are they testing to soon?
So what do you all think, does this sound ok? Going by my LMP on the 6th Jan and my OPK, which said i O cd13-18, I had cm on cd 18, does this look like there is still a chance?

O yeah i had HCG levels took last wk they were at 97 where i was either 4.5 or 4.1.wk along.

I don't really understand all this, i keep asking my friends and they are as clueless as me!

My doctor suspects the same thing with my pregnancy right now.  What were your levels each time they were checked?
For example here are mine:
2/5: 114
2/7: 199
2/9: 300
2/12: 542
2/14: 799
2:16: 1500

I go on Monday for an ultrasound and if they don't see a sac, then they will consider it an ectopic and give me that methotrexate shot.

Well we did IUI and they were done on 1/22 and 1/23 so I must have conceived on the 23rd at the latest.  My LMP was on 1/7 so I'd be 5 weeks and 3 days right now?  
I have a feeling that mine is going to be ectopic :-(  I don't have any pain at all or bleeding, but the doctor seems to think that the levels are an ectopic.  I just dread taking that methotrexate shot and then it worries me that I have tube damage?  What else would cause an ectopic?

Wow, thats almost the same dates as mine! My LMP was the 6th Jan. I did OPK which said O on cd 13-18 which was from the 18th of Jan to the 23rd. The doc's all worked out my dates based on a 29day cycle and Ovulation, which made 6 wks today or 5.3 like you, if i O on last cycle day? My levels yesterday don't seem far off yours. Almost the same , infact.
All i can do is wait and pray? I'm really hoping that my levels double tommorrow? I think that is suppose to be a good sign. I will have an u/s to comfirm either way.
Im like you, i feel nothing, but i was told i prob wouldn't till it ruptured. I have preg symtoms (symptoms), but they said you can feel this also if eptopic. They just said at this stage the scan should at least show a sack? and machines reads from levels of 1500, and mine are just over.
I also don't fit any of the critia for an eptopic, unless my tubes have some how blocked, since last pg? which resulted in m/c dec 06 at 11wk.
I will pray for us both, this wait is killing me too, i also won't know my outcome till this monday.

Hi. What a wait!!!
My levels have only been checked twice. Once on the 8th of Feb, they were at 97 and yesterday on the 16th of Feb, they were at 1565. I should be 6wks today, but im thinking what if i concieved on the last day of Ovulation and implanted late? Then this would be around four days out. So yesterday i would have been 5wks and 2days and not 5wks and 6days? Maybe im clutching at straws, i didn't expect an eptopic?
The doc said if my numbers have not doubled then i would need an laparoscopy? this will be dicussed more when i get my levels back on mon. My levels don't seem that far off, i think, from what ive read at this stage, it all depends on if they double? They said there ultrasound machines tell a pg from 1500, im thinking i was only alittle over?
How far pg are you suppose to be? and how do you feel? are you having any symptons? or pains?

Yes, our levels are the same!  I don't fit any of the criteria either for an ectopic and I had an HSG in January of '06 and it was all clear so this really baffels me.  I'll pray for both of us!  Did you doctor say that if your levels doubled it would be ok?  Mine made it sound like it didn't matter at this point ;-(  I also had a miscarriage and D&C back in September '06 :-(

Hi.I saw 3 different on friday,2 of them said the same. One doc, seemed abit opperation happy? she didn't seem to think it would matter and was only going to do 1 hcg test and base it on that! The other 2 doctors, did seem to think it mattered, but said they had to double and not go up a slow rate.  So if my numbers were at 1565 on Friday then today they should be near the 2620 ish mark?  
I am just confused about the scan machines, they said they detect a pg from 1500. For me it seems such alow number, only being 65 over. For you...im thinking, that they would not have seen anything anyway? Did you ask them what the levels had to be on there machines before they pick up pg? I am going in later to have test, i will forsure ask some more questions? I am also stuned. I thought, may another miscarridge but not this?
I was investigated only on the 8th of feb, as that was my thrid m/c, the results are not back, i think they said they take upto 4 wks? seems like such a long time. They then asked why i was not on asprin? I said that test was neg (done when not pg?) and no one told me to take it? she looked shocked. Of course its too late now, if i am having some sort of blood clotting? I don't trust doctors the best of time. Im going to see how my numbers look tomorrow,they booked me in for a scan today, i refused and said i would like to wait, till at least wed or poss fri. I have beeen monitered for internal bleeding. There is no sign of anything. If i was a normal person, i would prob not have know any of this as the scan in the UK and not done till 10-12 wks.
Im not going to do anything stupid, i just want to wait a week? This is horrid. Let me know how you get on tomorrow!

Just got back from the hospital. There was no one to talk to. But the nurse said my numbers have to double, they can't hover,go up slighty or go down, that they have to excatly double every 48hrs. So it all depends on these results today.
So my bloods on friday were 1565 so today they should be at 3130 mark?
She did say that there machines USUALLY do see at least the sack from levels 1500, but said it was so close, that she thinks it would depend on the hcg results, so not to worry about yet?
They should how ever defo see a sack over levels of 2000?

So im thinking, your levels are almost the same as me, hang in there. Were you getting your bloods done today? to see if they double? or are you just going to relie on scan?
God , i know how your feeling, its horrible. I posted about this on the fertility forum, check that out, there is one possitive story, could just be like ours?

Yeah, i know! I think if were at the same stage of pregnancy, our levels will be near enough the same. Im expecting to have levels of 3130 ish tomorrow. If they don't double then i think they will want to take action, also.
Will you get your levels in tomorrow? before your scan? Although tomorrow you should be well over 2000, they shoud prob reach the same mark as mine are expected to reach and for sure see the sack?
God..i suppose it all depends on them? Im crossing my figures for us both. Good luck x

I go tomorrow for another HCG test and an ultrasound and he said that if my levels increase over 2000 tomorrow and he can't see anything in the uterus, then he will be convinced it is ectopic.  He also said that if he does see something in my uterus, he still doesn't think the pregnancy is viable as he feels my HCG levels are below normal as over the last two weeks, they didn't double over the 48 hour periods.  
It's such a bummer as I already had a miscarriage in September :-(

O god, i am so sorry! What were your levels today? did you have your scan?

I think it's quite hard to diagnose eptopic.For me i had alittle bleeding 2 days after my possitive, it was very light, not enough to soke a pad and some cramping and that was pretty much it, i think they put that together with low hcg levels that were take at 4wks+ and with no sac on scan, that they were aderment could be detected from levels of 1500,= Eptopic? not very much really?

You are at the same time frame as me, it could be a case that when you had your last scan, that there machines are not as sensitive as they think?

Please let me know, what you have decided to do? It's so scary. X

I think you're going to be just fine.  You're levels have a doubling time of around 48 hours so that is perfect!!!  I don't know why they even thought ectopic for you!
Now I'm a different story :-(...my levels have a doubling time of 70 hours and that's not good....plus the doctor said he is pretty confident it's ectopic :-(  Oh well...I"ll try again.

I have just got my second lot of bloods done and they have more than doubled. They are at 3453. The docs said this looks promising, i go back again tommorrow to make sure they double again. They will monitor me then, and as long as i feel ok then i go back for scan next wed 28th to hopfully see my little bean?

I had a bleed when i found out i was pregnant at the time of my period. I got told that i had a miscarrage (miscarriage) at 5 weeks because my HCG was 400 i got tested today which is  a week later and my HCG was 2000 at six weeks. Does this sound promising. i worrying about it being eptopic, any one have any ideas.
