Does it matter?

Taking a HPT at night or in the morning? It should show positive if you're pregnant regardless of the time of day right?

After holding your urine all night makes it stronger, so first morning specimen is recommended.

Early in the pregnancy FMU (first morning urine) will show positive sooner but as the pregnancy progresses any time day or night will produce positive results. I know this because I tested it! I drank lots of water and peed on a stick in the afternoon. It showed positive at 9 dpo (:

If you are testing really early and forgot to test with first morning urine, you can get somewhat the same effect by holding your urine for several hours.  Generally if you are pregnant, holding your urine is not recommended, but you could do it once to get the strongest possibility of an accurate test.
