Dressing for Weather

by ImmortalOne, May 28, 2008 09:35AM
Alright, I have been trying to manage with this but it is getting ever more difficult (especially with family always saying the opposite).  So I need some help from you ladies.  I have Graves' Disease still, which means when it is cool to most people I am always hot.  This makes dressing the baby difficult because I can't dress her as I would myself.  So I wanted to get an idea for what the rest of the parents put their children in during various degrees of weather.  I constantly monitor the weather and degrees so I can try to keep her as warmly dressed as needed... but like this morning.. 50 degrees to me is comfortable, I know it isn't not so much for her.

Dress in layers that can be stripped off, like a onesie under a sweatshirt and pants. Bring along a blanket and a set of clothes incase she needs to be changed into something cooler or warmer. Feel her fingers, toes and nose for temp.

My rule is if it's in the 50's or below, I put them in pants and long sleeve shirt, if it's in the 60's, I dress them in jeans/pants with a short sleeve shirt.  If it's 70 or above, I dress them in shorts and a t-shirt.  I hope this helps!

Cant help ya.  Its so hot down here in Florida all poor Ayden gets dressing in at home is a diaper...lol
Seriously though, I agree with Jen check her for a temp.  You'll be able to tell.  If its 50 I would put her in pants.  High 70's and up a onsie and shorts.
