EARLY LABOR

SO FAR MY PREGNANCY HAS BEEN NORMAL (EXTREMELY BLESSED!!) I HAVE THIS ANXIETY ABOUT BEING TOO EARLY. I JUST WANT A NICE LONG PRENANCY SO MY BABY IS COMPLETELY DEVELOPED. I WATCH THESE SHOWS (SPECIAL DELIVERY) THAT I CAN'T WATCH ANYMORE B/C THEY FREAK ME OUT. RECENTLY I HAD A FRIEND WHOSE WIFE WENT INTO LABOR AT 32 WEEKS AND THE BABY WAS ONLY 3 POUNDS AND SHE DOESN'T GET TO TAKE HIM HOME WITH HER. IT'S SO SAD. SHE IS A HIGH RISK AND ALL AND IM NOT BUT IT'S STILL ALWAYS ON MY MIND. EASE MY MIND FRIENDS. =)  LATELY IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE THERE IS ANYONE JUST HAVING NORMAL LABOR NO PROBLEMS, ECT. I AM ONLY 22 WEEKS NOW. I TRY NOT TO WORRY BUT COULD USE SOME ENCOURAGEMENT.

you know what i feared the same thing...my grandmother passed away as well during my 6th month and i was REALLY stressed out...i feared the stress would do this..make me have my baby earlier than intended...the doc reassured me when the baby would be able to survive IF ever it happened and that comforted me alot...as soon as you get to that point its nice to KNOW that no matter what now your child will have a chance at life at least...the doc told me i would be really early like beginning aug and i wad due sept 4th well i was induced on the 12th..so just be happy you are making it this far and that everything is going good..its stressful being pregnant...

Special Delivery is an amazing show.. I watch it all the time.  The programs shows just how strong our little ones can be.  It is a very educational show.. I watch just to prepare myself on what "could" happen.  Just today they showed a woman on the show that has the same condition that I have ... which is a didelphic uterus (I have two of everything).. she had a septum as well.  Her delivery was not as early as I feared, her water broke at just 36 weeks but by that time the baby's lungs had developed enough.  I was thrilled to see that both of her cervix did dialate, and that she was able to deliver her baby vaginally.  

When I first got pregnant I prayed to reach 12 weeks, then 24 weeks (viablilty age), then 28 weeks... and now I am 30w1d TODAY!!  I truly believe that MANY women do this.  "If I can just make it to X weeks".  =)

Don't stress too much sweets.  Do you have a reason that you are stressing other than watching Special Delivery?

JUST WHEN I SEE PEOPLE AROUND ME HAVING BABIES EARLY AND HAVING COMPLICATIONS. I JUST PRAY FOR A FULL TERM PREGNANCY B/C NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE THEM ANYMORE, YA KNOW?

Yeah I know!  I was told yesterday while doing a tour with my Fiance' at our tiny little hospital that most women are induced at 38 weeks... two weeks early.. and MOSTLY they are induced for "convenience".  The nurse told me that my doctor only performs scheduled C-Section at my hospital on Tuesdays.  =)  Guess I know what day my baby will be born if I do have to have a C-Section.. What is up with all this "convenience" stuff anyway.

I had to stop watching shows like that when I was around 30 weeks; I would wind myself up thinking about everything that could wrong. I just had to trust that baby would come when baby was ready, even if it was early.

Maybe all the worrying we do while we are pregnant just gets us ready for all the worrying we'll do for the rest of our lives. :)
