Ear Infections and blister things

OK in the last 4 days I have sat in a ER with my son, three days ago I was told he had the begaining of an ear infection, so he was treated with a one time shot thing. Last again I sat in the ER with him that doctor said that the was redness but no puss so ok its gone right. Then she looked in the other ear which she says that she can see little round white spots on his inner ear that they look like blisters. Ok I have never heard of blisters in the ear, I can find anything on the net, can any tell me if you have ever heard of such a thing or tell me where I can find infformation on this.

There are several reasons a child/person can get blisters inside the ear, shingles is one and another condition called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.  If you go to the ask jeeves website and type in blisters inside the ear it will give you articles on both of these problems and perhaps help you to sort out what is going on with your little guy

Shingles is usually in older people Has he had the chickenpox?are they going around?  Usually not ear infection though with the pox, fever yes.
