Etopic Pregnancy after Tubal Ligation

Etopic Pregnancy after Tubal Ligation

I had my Tubal in 1997. About 10 months later I had an etopic pregnancy. I was not given any medication. It was dissolved on its own. My husband & I are now wanteng to have another baby. Since I did get pregnant after the  tubal, what are my chancees that a portion of my tube is open still or that they can be repaired?

Thanks,

Lisa

You are at very high risk for a repeat ectopic if you conceive again.

If you truly want to try to conceive, you probably need to have a consult to see about getting your tubal fully reversed (and even then you are at higher risk for an ectopic) or if you aren't sure you want another, use some form of birth control.

Don't just play wait and see.  Ectopics can be very, very serious and sometimes deadly.  If you want another pregnancy, get a reversal.  If you don't, either use birth control or get your tubal ligation repeated.

Good luck to you.
