Evening Primrose

Has anyone done the Evening Primrose thing and if so how much (mg) did you take or insert?

my doc told me to take the evening primrose 1000 mg a day.  I had my baby 5 days later but he said it didnt have anythign to do with the primrose

i started at around 30 weeks
I inserted it vaginally 2 capsules (1000 mg)

then at 32 or 33 weeks I started one orally and two vaginally

for the first time in one of my preganncies my cervix actually effaced on its own (so I think it did what it was supposed to do and that is ripen my cervix

So between the inserting and oral it was 1500 mgs.?

I took it too, but can't remember how much lol. I was also taking a tablespoon of anise seed (the spice you get at the grocery) 2 or 3 times a day in some applesauce. That, too, was supposed to ensure that I didn't go past 40 weeks. Of course, I also did the castor oil (yuk!), an enema, and sex. I was going to make darn sure I didn't go over b/c, at the time, my midwife thought I was having a rather large baby and didn't want it getting any bigger lol. Ended up he was only 6lb 12oz! She was really sweet about that though (I thought), doing everything to help me have my VBAC...which I did.
