Experiences with Provera

by specialteacher, Nov 14, 2006 12:00AM
Yesterday the doctor prescribed me 5 mg tablets of Provera to take for 10 days.  I haven't had a period at all since my D&C on Sept 15.  Has anyone used Provera to get AF working again?  Was it heavier or about like normal?  I'd appreciate any info!  Thanks!

I took Provera twice and my periods were heavier and had a little more cramping.  But they lasted about  4-5 days.  I took Provera in Dec 05 and again in Jan 06 and now I have a beautiful baby boy that is 11 days old.  Best of luck and hope it works for you!

I used it last month after not having AF for 8 mos. I did 7 days of provera and started AF 4 days after taking last pill. My Dr. told me it wouldn't be any heavier because my lining hadn't built up anymore than it would for 1 month. In fact I found it to be on the lighter side. The only problem I had was after 6 days of normal AF,it trickled on with spotting for an additional 5 days! This was probably unusual because of my circumstances. My Dr. didn't seem to concerned about it. Most people it seems to work just like a normal period would. Good luck!
