Extremely high HCG levels and no sac

Extremely high HCG levels and no sac

So I had my last period March 10, 2010. I took a test prior to that and it was negative , as well as I took a test about two weeks after that which was also negative. April 10, 2010 I got a positive test. Today (4/17) I went to the hospital for light pinkish streaking that went away. They did a blood test and an US. The US showed nothing , no sac or embryo anything. My blood test however showed a level at which someone who was 9 weeks pregnant would have. If anything I should only be just at 5 weeks pregnant if that. Im curious what this may mean? Ectopic? Molar? Twins?

The levels of "normal" in hCG readings are very wide at any given point in early pregnancy.  This is why doctors don't use hCG readings to date pregnancies -- there is not really an hCG level that shows "a level at which someone 9 weeks pregnant" would be.  My suggestion is that as you say, you are at "5 weeks ... if that," which is a time when nothing much would show on an ultrasound.  Its not possible to try to extrapolate from this plus the hCG level whether it is molar or twins or anything else, it's just too early and indefinite, you need more clues.  Are you getting another hCG count soon, or have you been scheduled for an ultrasound in your 7th week?  Both of those things are much more instructive.

Hi, I am in the same situation as you with the same dates and occurance. I am really scared that I could be having a molar pregnancy.  Since this was written a year ago, what happened?  Did you continue to have a health baby or did the worse happened? I really need some answers....
Thanks,
