FISH test and baby gender...any idea???!!!

Hi. Does anyone have any idea if the FISH test can give a wrong result to predict baby gender

If you have the FISH test and they do an amnio, I would doubt highly that they would give you a wrong result because FISH if a genetic thing. They also can determine baby's gender based on those chromosomes. So if you had a chromosomal study done by amnio, I would say both results are positive.

KJBUTCHER-- the original poster is talking about 22q13 Deletion Syndrome (spoken as twenty two q one three), also known as Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, is a genetic disorder caused by a microdeletion on chromosome 22. The deletion occurs at the terminal end of the chromosome at the location designated q13.3. This microdeletion is rarely uncovered by typical genetic screening, therefore a fluorescence in situ hybridization, or FISH, test is recommended to confirm the diagnosis.
