FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!!!

FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!!!

I am 17 weeks pregnant and over the weekend I found a lump the size of a tangerine in my left breast! I am freaking out ya'll! I went to the Doc. and he got me in for an ultrasound and biopsy of the breast! Why so quick?? Has anyone else had this during pregnancy and it turn out to be nothing??

First off, let me say that cancer is not that likely, and that hormonal cysts, lumps, fibroids, etc. are much more common during pregnancy. Most likely it will be something harmless of that nature. The reason that he got you in so quick is probably #1 to help you not have to freak out while you wait a month for an appt. #2, breast cancer may grow faster during pregnancy because of hormones. If it is something bad, of course they want to get it ASAP.

Im glad you went to the Dr.  They probably just want to check everything out to see if alls well. Its very hard to tell about lumps during pregnancy because of the many changes that are occuring with the breasts. Ive heard stories about lumps during pregnancy and it was a milk duct.
Heres some info:

Everything can be different because you are pg. Hormones are so active it can change things.  1. it might just be your boobs changing because of pg.  Or another thing(which probably not)  But pg can cause things to progress quicker than normal.  Not to scare you I just mean that I have heard of women who feel lumps during pregnancy and end up getting treatment and everything is okay.  I would just TRY and relax until yu get the results back.  Please keep us updated.  My thoughts are with you.  Just one little story... my sister when pregnant was diagnosed with a tumor on her pituitary,  they waited til after she had the baby and did another mri and it had shrunk to a tenth of what it had been she is fine and doing well.  Please stay positive
GOOD lUCK

I have no answers for you just wanted to say that I'm thinking of you.  That must be SO scary!  Think positively because I'm sure the other women posters are right -- the hormones are probably what is causing the lump.  And good for you for doing breast exams!  I always forget to do mine and I need to start being more consistent.

Oh my gosh, I understand your concern.  The size of a tangerine is very large.

The other women are right though.  Pregnancy hormones can make "lumps" that aren't cancer.  It's just the sudden growth in the breasts caused by the rush of hormones that causes things to swell.

That's so great that your doctor hurried you in for tests.  I'm sure everything will be fine though, it sounds like you're in good hands!!!!!  GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!
