***************FRIDAY'S OPEN FORUM*******************

by silo, Apr 30, 2004 12:00AM
Have a great Friday ladies!  Hope all is well with everyone.  Anyone testing this weekend?  There's so much going on with everyone, that I'm starting to lose track of what's going on with each person.

Let's do another roll call if it's ok with you all.

I'll start:  I'm 33 y/0, DH is almost 35, we have a 10 year old son, and live near Dallas, Texas.  I am 17.5 weeks pregnant, due around the 1st of October.  We are not finding out the sex of the baby.  We love surprises.  I can't wait to go through a Texas summer while pregnant; I'm sure I'll be a real joy to be around.  Thank God for swimming pools.

Hi! I am 32 husband 40 we have a 5 year old son.  I was pregnant in february, had a D&C in April after the doctor saw an empty sac through a sonogram.  I had the D&C on April 8, I have been spotting for the past 2 weeks and 1/2, I had a blood test showing my bhcg levels at 47 and a positive pregnancy test last night.  Is it possible to be pregnant so soon?  Please help.

I'm Michele (but I'm sure you figured that out from my nic) will be 30 late May. d/h is 38. We are 20 weeks along with this preganancy EDD Sept.16. No other children, just two fur babies!  I was pregnant last fall, but lost it at 6 weeks.  Luckily we were able to get pregnant again right after my first cycle.  Had an ultrasound on Tuesday, everything is looking good.....looks like a little boy! I've only gained 3lbs so far, not sure if I should be concerned or not, as I do work out on a regular basis.  Another Canadian, just west of TO in Guelph.  Not looking forward to enduring a summer while pregnant :)

by KatyH, Apr 30, 2004 12:00AM
Hi!  My name is Katy, I'm 29.  DH - 33 and I live in Birmingham, AL.
We have been TTC since Sept. 2003, and after charting for 1 month we are now pregnant! I am 6 1/2 weeeks along, and it's been a rocky start so far.

After spotting, cramping and light bleeding right after we found out I was pregnant, we learned my progesterone levels were too low - 4.6 to be exact.  After a week on progesterone suppositories, my progesterone is up to 39.8, the bleeding and cramping has stopped, AND we saw a heartbeat this past Monday! (:

At the beginning of my 6th week, "all day" sickness hit me like a mac truck.  I'm so very grateful I'm not bleeding anymore, but I am HATING feeling like I'm going to puke every other minute!  I can't wait for the second trimester so I can truly enjoy being pregnant.  (:

Hello everyone,
I am new to this website today and thought I'd throw my question out to y'all.  I decided to stop the pill late feb.  I should have restarted 2/22 and did not and now 4/30 I still have not gotten a period.  We aren't at all ready or trying to become pregnant and still have been "safe" otherwise.  Should I be worried or is this common after stopping the pill.  I was on it over 7 years.
Please advise!!!!! Thanks so much.

I'm Shelly, 39 yo.  DH 48.  DD 15, DD 6, DD 4, DD 2.5 mos
We are from Southeast Alaska.  I don't post much anymore because I've had my baby and feel a little uncomfortable about posting in the midst of TTC and pregnant.  Congratulations to all who are preggo, and much luck to those TTC.  I still read the postings each day, but am having a hard time "breaking the habit".  This site was great help and support during my final "older mom" pregnancy.

Regards,

Shelly

Don't feel uncomfortable posting just because you ahd your baby! Good night girl! We like good news too! Not only that , but soon there is going to be alot of births in here and I think that this is still a great support for those with infants. I know it will be 6 yrs for me since having a newborn and I will probably need a lot of advice from you new fresh moms!

by Casey1, Apr 30, 2004 12:00AM
I'm also an older mom - I'm 39 and my husband is 40.  We just had our first baby - a girl on April 13th.  She was a bit of a surprise as she was a month early, but she is as healthy as a horse (funny expression).  I too found this forum very helpful during my pregnancy.  I had spotting in the first trimester and preterm labor contractions in my third.  I do still check in from time to time, and perhaps one day I'll be back here TTC again!

by cazip, Apr 30, 2004 12:00AM
Great Idea everyone!  Esp. since I'm new here.  It's nice to hear about you guys.  :)

Hi all,
I'm Vikki from Fort Wood, Missouri. I'm 29 & DH is 37. I have a 9 year old son from my first marriage and this will be hubbys first. I am 36 weeks, 3 days prego with a boy (so they say)
I can say this little one is a bit more hard headed than my first.......he has decided to go head up (breech) and doesn't act like he wants to flip back down.
My OB and I will make the final decision on Thursday as to wether we are going to try to physically turn him or not. (I'm a big sissy when it comes to the thought of a c-section)
Hugs,
Vikki

My name is Andrea (25), dh is John (27), married for almost 4 years. Ds, Jonathan is 2 and we are expecting boy number 2 very soon (EDD 5/19/04) I am a SAHM now but was a nurse before getting married and "retiring." I am a full time evening student studying Early Childhood Ed to better enable me to homeschool our children when the time comes.

I have had 4 m/c out of 6 total pregnancies. My first 2 were condom babies and happened when I was 14 and again at 17. My third was just after dh and I got married and my fourth was last year as summer was beginning. I was able to conceive after my first cycle last year and am now anxiously awaiting the arrival of Tristan Asa.

We live in the Pacific Northwest in the naval town of Bremerton, WA (across the Puget Sound from Seattle) I did spend a few years in Houston and am so happy to be back in the northwest : )

We are very busy, so it's hard to find time for all that BD, but we try!!!

Hey it is so nice to finally see a nice age bracket on here.  The last time I posted on a roll call I felt ancient with all you little 20 somethings around here   LOL!!!!!!!!  Anyhow-----

I am Angie I live in Northwest Indiana about an hour from Chicago.  I am 31 DH is 33 I have a beautiful little girl who will be 6 in June.  I had a m/c back in Sept, 2003 and was lucky enough to get pg after my second cycle.  I told my my DH what I wanted for Christmas last year and a baby was on the list and boy did Santa deliver.  We conceived right at Christmas time and I am about 20 - 20.5 wks along and due Sept 10-16.  I have had dates that ranged in that whole area so I will have this baby when it wants to come.  I do work right now and if all goes well I will be done at the end of July.  I can't wait to be a SAHM again.  I think we are having a little boy this time.  Christopher David William.  Good Luck to all of you TTC and to all who are preggers right now.  Take Care

My name is Jen and I live AZ (if that wasn't obvious beforehand).  I'm 30, DH 31.  Will be married 5 years in June. No kids, but a cute puppy named Wally.  We've been TTC since Aug '02 and I started fertility meds January '03. I had a m/c Aug '03 (PG with Clomid), got PG right away (no meds)and lost that one at ~ 8.5 weeks.  D&C end of Oct and my HCG was not normal until Dec.  I have since found out I have a "borderline high" FSH level (10.4).  This cycle I'm on new meds (Femara and Repronex)and just had an IUI on 4/28. I had 3 good size follicles, so hoping that one of them is going to be "the one".  You all have been a huge source of support and I thank you for that.
