Fenugreek and who has tried it

Hello ladies! My baby boy arrived oct.12. And I have been breastfeeding and pumping. However my milk supply is very very low. My dr. suggested fenugreek to take. I baught it today, but I am wondering if any of you ladies have tried this and did it work increasing your milk supply, and is there anything else out there that would work better on increasing the milk supply. THanks.

it helps a little....the best thing you can do at this point is to pump after every feeding and then some to get your milk supply to increase. I also took some blessed thistle as well as the fenugreek and ended up giving up because i was already so low on milk production and my parents didnt help sneaking formula to her. Good luck!

Try also Mother's Milk tea.  Of all the herbals, it helped me the most.  And/or ask for a prescription to Reglan, from your doc.  Neither of these things probably help as much as pumping and putting the baby to the breast a lot, so definitely do those.

I tired Mother's Milk tea, fenugreek and blessed thistle.  NOTHING helped.  This is not to say that it won't help you.  Some swear by it.  Good luck.

I know this is an older post, but I wanted to throw this out there for moms with low milk supply. I tried just feungreeks seeds, then mothers milk tea, and I didn't see an increase. As a last  resort I tried Breastea and it has increased my milk supply a lot. I've also got PCOS. So if you are having problems making enough milk, you might want to try it out.

I struggled with both of children. I tried a lot of stuff. What I found works best was mothers milk plus from http://www.motherlove.com/ it has fenugreek along with several other milk supporting herbs. This one had goats rue, which was super helpful for me. I also drank mother milk tea 3 times a day, and a 16 oz of water every time I nursed. And of course lots of pumping. Lactation told me that it generally takes 3 days for milk changes to be seen, so if you don't see immediate results, don't get discouraged. Hope this helps.
