Hi, I’m EXACTLY in the same boat as you. This is my first pregnancy. I had a u/s this Wed., measured at 5 weeks 6 days and all they could see was the gestational sac, yolk sac and the fetal pole. No heartbeat was detected. My doctor wants me to remain positive and come back next week for another u/s. She said the baby just might be too small to detect the heartbeat. I should mention that this u/s was a bit of a miracle for me because my first u/s a week before showed a calcified yolk sac and no baby!! I was basically told there was no hope. Either the doctors were terribly mistaken or a miracle did happen. I don’t think anything anyone says can make you relax but try and be positive. I am. The best of luck to you!
