I don't know about the heart rate, but I wanted to throw in a word about vitamins. I think you should definitely be taking a prenatal vitamin. Even if you have the most healthy diet it is still very hard to get all the vitamins you need every day. You especially need increased amounts of folic acid right now. Of course, it's best to get these nutrients from food, but a vitamin gives you a little more support. Do a search on how much folic acid you should be getting and try to buy a vitamin that meets that. You may also want to do a search on vitamin A. Too much vitamin A has been linked to birth defects (vitamin A rich foods are safe) so you want to make sure you're not getting to much in that area. Best of luck to you!
Hi, i dont know to much about the heart beat and stuff because ive never made it past 5 weeks, am now 4weeks pg, and my doc started me back on the vitimains and irons tabs.. as the other girls said... maybe you should get some and start taking them.
For the heartbeat, 154 bpm is great! Don't worry, you're right on target. I'm very confused as to why there were searching for something as high as 200 bpm - that's almost unheard of.
For the vitamins, yes you should be taking prenatal vitamins. You should ask your doctor for a prescription right away. If they won't give you a prescription, you should go to a drug store and see what you can buy off the shelf. I'm not sure how it works in Japan, but here we can over-the-counter prenatal vitamins if we want.
I'm also confused about your post. Did the doctors find a heartbeat of 154 bpm and wanted it to be at 200 bpm? For you or baby? Sorry, I'm not quite following. As for the vitamins, you should start take them asap- forsure for the folic acid which helps with neural tube defects, spina bifida, etc. In north america they recommend starting prenatals 3 months before trying to conceive so you should start. Good luck.
A heartbeat of 154 is perfect. It should be bewteen 120-180 is whet a I was told when I just went in for my ultrasound on Tuesday and my babies heartbeat was 160. As for the vitamins, I know one girl was in here one time and her family lived in Japan and she lived in america but she did mention that over there people eat so healthy and they eat right, dr's really don't prescribe vitamins. Don't know how true this is, being there is fast food over there as well. You do need folic acid for sure, so if nothing else try getting a folic acid supplement! Good luck to you!
About the vitamins, in Belgium it's the same like jgirl34
said. They don't push you into taking prenatal vitamins like here in the states, only the folic acid. But they recommend to take it a few months before you try getting pregnant because it is very important for the development of the neural tube and most of that is formed before a lot of women even realise they are pregnant. 400 mcg is recommended. Some Prenatal tablets even have 800 mcg. Iron is usually only recommended when you are a bit anemic. Like if you are seeing white spots, that could be a sign and you can ask your dr. to check you and see how much iron you need (don't take more than you have to, you get really constipated! and don't take it with your other vitamins). I also read (and my dr. agreed) that leg cramps are an indication you need more calcium, if you ever get those.
thanks a lot for the suggestions....
yes i live in Japan and as some people pointed out the doctors here do not recomment any vitmains because people eat very healthy... i am vegeterian and hence i am bit more conerned abt these vitamins as sources are limited for me... i will have check with my doc and try and get a prescription... thanfully, i have been taking folic acid tabs as my mom had advised me to do so..... doctor hasnt mentioned anything about it so far!!!! pretty scary and strange.....
on the hb point, my baby's hb is 154 bpm... i am not sure why doctor told me that it is slow and needs to be ard 200... i was a bit scared but all the suggestions have realy made me more comfortable.... thanks again to all of you.... god bless...
I cannot believe the dr. told you that it needs to be around 200.. I have never heard of that. That is crazy. My son was around 150 or so and my daugher stayed around 160 the whole time. And I had no problems. My doctor always said that they were right on target.
With you being a vegetarian, I would look into prenatal vitamins. I am not sure about in Japan, but in the US, we have ones that are available over the counter. It is good that you are taking folic acid though.
I AM A LITTLE OVER 5 WKS I STARTED HAVING BLEEDING AND WENT TO MAGEE, THEY DID A PELVIC EXAM. MY CERVIX WAS CLOSED AND MY BETA COUNT WAS NORMAL FOR THIS STAGE OF PREG, BUT THEY DID A SG AND THE SACK AND EMBREYO WAS VERY CLOSE TO MY CERVIX THEY DIDNT FIND A HEARTBEAT THE EMBEYO IS ONLY A LITTLA OVER 2MM, THEY SEEM TO THINK THE SACK IS ATTACHED TO MY C-SECTION SCAR. HAS ANYONE EXP THIS? PLEASE IF ANYONE HAS ANY ADVICE.
