Fever and intoxication during early pregnancy

Fever and intoxication during early pregnancy

My wife was about 4 weeks pregnant when she started having chills. She did not take her body temperature up until the the 5th weeks in pregnancy. At that time it was between 99 and 100.5 degrees F (37-38 degrees C). The fever followed by diarrea (diarrhea) after a week. She still has fever (3 weeks in a row) and diarrea (diarrhea). Her blood tests are fine. She took the "safe" antibiotic for 10 days. Her doctors have no clue what is going on and point to the virus. I have not seen people with virus that could cause fever for 3 weeks. Any medical advice is highly appreciated.

I have also been very sick for a few weeks with a low grade fever as well, it is most likely a virus. And unfortunately, antibiotics will not help a virus. Only time will help. The good news is that her fever is a low grade and should not cause any problems with the baby.

Has she been doing all the normal things to attempt to keep it down? For example, a lukewarm bath, tylenol, lots of fluids(I am a huge proponent of orange juice when ill and lots of water) and of course rest.

Hope this helps

I think it may be infection. Different areas refer to it with different terms : )

By intoximation I meant the morning sickness present during pregrancy. My wife is nauseous all the time, and periodically has to throw up. Her fever is gone now.

Thanks for asking.
