My granddaughter had a fingernail torn off in an accident. Is it likely to grow again.

One of my sons had his thumb nail torn off on a jungle gym when he was about 5 years old.As it grew back, it looked really funny, almost deformed looking, and before it had completely come back, was torn off a second time!I thought for sure that it would always look disfigured, but in time it grew back to looking absolutely normal. So please try not to worry. And try to reassure your granddaughter not to worry if it looks a little odd while it's in the process of growing back.
