First U/S today!

Hey girls. I went for my appt. the dr said everything looked good. she showed me the fetal pole and she also saw a faint hb..we tried to listen for it but couldnt hear it yet! so the only thing she saw was a cyst. which she said is normal in pregnancys but that it usualy gets smaller by now. she says its pretty common for it to still be big tho. in 99% of cases it gets smaller by the time the placenta takes over. the only thing that could happen is it could twist my ovary and cut off oxygen to it. so im going back in next week for another u/s and to check on the cyst. hopefully the cyst will have shrunk some by then. she told me to take it easy so it doesnt twist or rupture, but she thought it would be fine! Im so happy everything went great. I can relax a little now! has anyone else had this cyst thing?

Glad to hear everything went well. I've had many cysts but I'd never been told that it could possibly twist my ovary and cut off oxygen! My cysts were usually painful and ruptured on their own without causing any real damage. I was even told I had one early on in this pregnancy but all the dr at the ER told me was that it may cause some discomfort. Hope everything goes well at your next appt.

she said it was super rare for that to happen..ive never heard of that either..she prob didnt even mean to tell me that! hehe
