We are trying for our third baby. I have a 5 year old boy and 2 year old girl. I have problems conceiving due to endo and hypothyroidism. I am on my 4th cycle of Chlomid, EstrogenHormone replacement therapy and Progesterone suppositories. I am having no luck this time. My thyroid level is at 3.2 and I went to get my progsterone level checked and it was .6! I am getting frustrated. We have been trying for over a year. Do I need to lower my synthroid or what? I am in the military so the doctors I get to see are not being very helpful. Can someone please give me advice on what to ask my doctor to do to get me on focus again? Thank you
Wow. only .6 on progesterone? I thought that was pretty much unheard of. Did your doctor say anything about it? I was taking those, estrogenHormone replacement therapy, and clomid and my progesterone was 19.6....didn't conceive but didn't start my period until I quit taking the progesterone....I don't know much about synthroid...but what I do know about it...I don't think it would have much effect on progesterone especially since you are supplementing. personally- i'd ask for a higher dose of clomid...
The number one thing for you is your synthroid. I am hypothyroid and if your levels are off ...and yours are high you will not be able to conceive. The thyroid is connected to all the internal symtoms and will affect your hormones alot...see an endocrinologist ob/gyn for the best advice...but without proper thyroid...time will stand still.
Do you have to see military doctor's exclusively? I think it would be prudent to seek medical advice from some civillian specialist. I'm a big wrap for second opinions, you'll hear me say that again and again where I think it's warranted, and your's is such a case.
There would be no bias, no harm and you could - if you wanted - keep seeing military doctors but cover your bases with civillian doctors as well. The bonus of civillian doctors is that you can carefully choose one that you like, or go elsewhere if not completely happy with their diagnosis.
