Floor Cleaning Systems

Floor Cleaning Systems

I hope its okay to ask this...I know its a health forum, but its such a good way for me to get some opinions from real Moms so I can choose wisely.

I want to get a system for floor cleaning--- there are Swiffer Sweeper and Wet Jet, CLorox Ready Mop, and I think a couple others.

Do any of you have these? And what are your feelings on them--what do you love or hate? Would you get it again or recommend it?

I just have a never-ending battle with keeping my floors clean. I need something easy and convenient. I have mostly hardwood.I want something that sweeps dry stuff AND mops wet when needed.

If you have any feelings or thoughts I would like to hear them. Thanks! :)

I absolutely LOVE my swiffer wet jet, I still sweep before since it doesn't take the dry cloths and I don't think they can pick up bigger crumbs anyway. The solution that comes with it smells very good and doesn't leave a residue either. It dries up pretty quickly too which is very nice with a two year old running around (we don't need any slips and falls).

I got an email the other day about the swiffer wet jet...just use caution when using around pets. (and small children)  I will see if I can find it...not sure if there is any truth to it, but, always better to be safe than sorry.

Oh my gosh this is scary. I only have hard floors in my kitchen and bathroom and Noah really doesn't play in either areas, he also is over the whole putting his fingers in his mouth phase. I am still worried though, I am going to look into this more. We also have a cat and I would die if he passed away.

surprise- Is it only the swiffer or is it the other mop systems too?

we have the clorox... it's ok. the floor never looks super clean though. my house isn't too big, so i usually get on my hands and knees with a soapy sponge. the result is always so much nicer (pergo floors) or in between cleanings DD (17 months) and i take baby wipes to the floors. I've trained her to find and wipe dirty spots. haha.

I use the old fashion way, sweep, then on my hands and knees with a toothbrush scrubbing the floor so that it is super clean... NOT!!!  I just thought I would say that to be funny :o)

I do sweep first and then use the swiffer wet jet, the only problem is, that the spray is crazy - seems to spray three/four feet!

i moved into a new place and the kitchen floor is a wreck! the only thing that makes it better is a real mop with some bleach, hard to do that though since the smell is strong, i have the wet jet. its alright so expensive when u gotta keep buying refills, it does the same thing as a mop! and u still have to sweep a lot before it, its all the same, its just a way for people to make money! but i like my swiffer because it smells good and all but i buy refills when i have extra money or else ill get a reg mop, i have to go on my hand and knees to scrub my kitchen floor, just being lazy and not doing it lol. but swiffer is good
