Flu shots / open forum

Tis the season for the flu! It is right around the corner & I was wondering how many of you will be getting the flu shot while preggers? Also, My DD never had one before (she is 3) she is in pre school now, should I make her get one?

I know when I was preggers with DD my doctor made me get one but I do not know about our daughters.

I pre-cut lemon and lime wedges and put it in a Tupperware to add to my water.  You can also buy this packets called true lemon/True Lime, it's a concentrated powder to add a little citrus flavor to your water.

Hey ya'll.  I'm PISSSED today (sorry, this is not medically related).   My brother got engaged two weeks ago and last night his fiancee tells him that she hates the ring and is embarrased to wear it and that he should have gotten her what she wanted (2 carats).  Can you believe people like that exist!  He was so thoughtful in what he got her -- it was a little over 1 carat total weight but the center stone is "only" a little over a half carat.  He bought it with his savings (I bet is was at least 5K) and she told him that he should have financed it so she could have gotten a ring that WOWED people.  What a hooker.  She even refuses to go to an engagement party this weekend that friends are throwing because other girls there have bigger diamonds and she's just too ashamed to show people hers.  He's moving out and I hope to GOD he doesn't change his mind.  

It floors me that there are people out there that are SO STUPID!  He is such a great guy.  I want to go over there and pull all her perfect hair out and then pee all over her Gucci sandles and Coach handbags...

I also wanted to let everyone know that I saw the nurse pract. yesterday along with my Dr. She passed this along to me but said it has not been proven but every paitent she told has said the same. If you get contractions after sex, try having DH or partner wear a condom. Something in semen can cause contractions & many of the women said that contractions stopped after partner wore a condom. I have not tried it yet but just thought I would pass it along

DONT DRINK CRYSTAL LIGHT if it has sweet and low in it
bad bad bad ...s&L is a big NO NO while pregnant. Not sure if yours has that or not...if i had one in front of me i coudl tell  you. if there is aspartame in it..dont drink it. Thats why diet soda is a no no also while pg. Anything w/ artificial sweetner is bad bad bad. Unless its splenda. They claim that is okay, but i dunno. It hasn't been out long enough to convince me.

I would get a flu shot also when pg. My DS will be 3 in dec. He gets one every year. After children are 2, the only way they will give a flu shot right away is if they are prone to asthma. My DS has chronic colds and bronchitis so they put down on his chart he is asthmatic which we are still not sure of, but he gets them now every year.

Yes I was reading the box and it says it has Aspirtame in it.  So I will not be drinking it anymore.  I love that stuff too.  I dont use it all the time tho.  Just sometimes.  But I am stopping now.  THANK YOU ALL.  I really appreciate your answers and suggestions for what to use instead.

At my appointment yesterday I was told that I am measuring a little big. What dose that mean? I know my dates are right on & now I am a little nervous. I know someone asked this B4 & I can't find it anywhere!

I have the same thing. I drink lots of water during the day and then usually just a glass of milk with dinner. I have bever gotten up 7 times, but some nights I am up 4 times. It drives me nuts!

There is a new study out now that says that kids to the age of five should have the flu shot so I think it will be changing soon.

My doctor hasn't talked to me about the flu shot yet, but I figure I'll be getting one.  I'm due in December and I do not want to get sick.  I'll probably ask about it at my next appointment.

I don't want to hog a whole post for this, but when is/did everyone have their baby shower. I'm due 2/28 and my mom wants to do it in early January but I think it's too close to Christmas. I was thinking late January/first weekend in Feb. But I also don't want to push it too close. Is early December too early/too close to Christmas?

Yes, definetely try the lemon/lime, I love it.  If you don't have fresh one on hand, use the bottle!
9 more weeks or 63 days before I see my baby boy.  I am SO EXCITED!  We got the crib ready lsat night, and will be shopping at Baby Depot next week to get whatever else we need.  We finished painting the nursery Sun and I posted some pics on Yahoo.  You need to post some belly shots on there too.

I got one when I was preggers with DS.  I plan on getting one again.  As I am sick now and do not want to get it again.  As for DS I got him one after he turned one.  The recommend it at my dr. office.  They give 1/2 at one visit and then you have to go back for the second half.

Does anyone know if there is something in Crystal Light that you cant have??  I really like to flavor my water with this and I am not sure if its ok or not.  Can someone help??

I think Crystal Light is ok but don't drink it like water because it contains artificial sweetener.

Watch Aspartame in all products.  Not good for ya at all.  I woudn't chance it if I was pregnant.  If I wasn't definately in moderation.  Known to cause yeast infections, headaches and cancer down the line if continued strongly.

I know that being pregnant causes you to go to the bathroom more but I was wondering if anybody else has this problem.... I drink a lot during the day and hardly anything after 5 o'clock. I go to the bathroom maybe 4 times during the day but last night... whew... I went to the bathroom 7 time from the hours of 10-6! My question is.... does anybody else go to the bathroom more at night than during the day when they don't hardly drink anything at night???

I am the same way. I love a little flavor in my water. Just watch out for sweetners. They have not been tested enough yet. I love to add a little juice to my water. My Fav. is ocean spray white cranberry & berry mix. I do 1/4 juice & the rest water. It gives it a nice kick!

I can't wait to see it.  I saw Staci's and am so excited to see everyone else's!  I( have been getting lots of BH and am more achy lately.  It's getting pretty uncomfotable.  I have gained 20 lbs or so and my doc wants me to gain 35, I can't imagine, how umcomfy I will feel.
Time sure flies!  You will see your angel before you know it too!  With the holidays, time will just flies by.  
I remember our TTC journey too!  I hope we don't have to go through it again.  Are you going to have more kids?  I plan on having another one before I turn 35 so I stil have 6-7 years to go.

I plan on posting some belly shots as soon as I get what looks like a preggo belly and not just fat.  Im sure it wont be too long from now.  Since I am almost 15 weeks.  I know by 20 weeks FOR SURE I will be showing.  but I am sure before that.  I have some sort of belly but it just looks fat.  Oh well what can you do.  OMG 9 weeks!!  I cant believe it.  time flys so fast!  I still rem you telling that it wasnt your month and what not and that Tony said he was going to get you preggo the next month for sure....LOL!!  Little did he know he already did!!  HA :)  Then you tested and got 2 pink lines!  As I knew you would.  Since you BBT and stuff and your temp was up I just knew.

try the 4c kind, it is made with splenda and they have a decaf ice tea that is pretty good.  I know I have a hard time just drinking plain water too.  splenda is ok

I know, he needs to RUN.  It's only the beginning of the hell for him if he stays.  I don't know about her being materialistic before this -- probably.  I live 6 hours away so don't get down there very often.  My mom did tell me that she's been making him pay for all the bills and stuff even though they're not married yet (and basically make the same salary).  I just want him to be happy like dh and I.  So many women would have been proud to wear that ring!

My DH only has one sister and I have 4 other siblings. 2 step-brothers, a half sister and a half brother.  But this is not why I want 3.  Who knows we may stop at 2.  i dont know.

OHMIGOD!!! you just described my sister-in-law!!! except my brother WANTED to buy her the big diamond because he wanted to make sure all the other guys saw it and left her alone....i really dont like her and im sure she has cheated on him...ever since he met her he has been this completely different person, he never smiles or is really happy anymore...and he has to get her permission to do ANYTHING, before they got married they 'broke up' and got back together several times...theyve even almost got separated recently....i pray they break up for good before any kids get involved..i know he REALLY wants kids and if it was up to him, she'd have gotten preggers like yesterday....but she is way too self absorbed to have kids yet...i pray she doesnt 'give-in' to him and get pregnant. i hate women...girls....like her

I can't imagine how you guys feel! I have one brother and I waould go CRAZY if some biotch ever acted like that with him. Some women never cease to amaze me. It is really sad the way some people prioritize their lives. I feel for you guys!
