I have an app't with the DR. tomorrow but now I think she has some sort of allergy to....who knows because I introduced something before waiting.
My question is.....have any of your babies had food allergies and if so, how did you know. She has no rash anywhere else. It almost looks like as if she had sunglasses on and when they were taken off, the lines below them are red with pimple like bumps. I hope I am making sense.
I honestly don't think that she has a food allergy to the squash. I think that if she was allergic she would have broke out more than a few little dots. And also if you are allergic I do believe that you would break out in more places. I could be wrong. Hopefully some of the other ladies on here can help more, but I honestly don't think that it is allergies. All baby's do get little rashes on their faces, I am sure she is fine.
I just read and interesting article on allergies......It said that a true allergy is when your body has an immune response the food or substance and attacks what is thinks is a foreign protien. Anyways you would have to be exposed to it once and then the next time the body would show response to the allergic substance. That is why they suggest trying a new food for a few days and waiting for a reaction. Also the reason you shouldn't introduce allergen type foods (peanuts, egg, dairy, wheat etc) to babies is their guts are leaky and the protiens can leak out and sensitize the body to form an allergic response and if you wait until they are older then the gut holds those substances in better. And breastfed babies have less risk of allergies because breastmilk is easier on their guts and makes them "less leaky". Interesting thoughts. A few bumps doesn't sound like an allergic response, sounds like sensitive skin to me. Ask your doctor tomorrow and let us know.
I decided to hold off going to the Dr. because her rash/bumps are fading. I am going to hold off on food for a couple of days and start again. I think this is the only way we know.
Thank you guys.
