Poor thing that most feel awful. Baby will not be affected by it. However try to keep drinking fluids so you remain hydrated and rest if dizziness sets in.

I agree w/ Harley-girl on this one, my friend got it during the day while pg so she went onto the Dr & they gave her something for N/v but her baby was fine & so was she, also if this ever happens while you BF (happened to the same friend again this time at night)the Dr told her to just pump out her breast milk & pour it out for the night (luckily her DD slept all night)& then once the am was here she could BF again. Both were fine. I know you still want to check w/ the DR but you are probably fine along w/ the babe on the way:) LOVE & PRAYERS

Hi...hope you'll feel better soon.  I had a similar experience early in pregnancy.  Don't worry, the baby's fine...like the ladies mentioned above make sure you keep hydrated.

I had food poisoning for a week around my 18th week and everything was fine.  The baby isn't affected by it that much, the doc just told me the baby may miss some of the nutrients if your not able to keep food down but that's ok if it only lasts for a week and you keep hydrated.  Continue taking prenatals and calcium supplements so the baby replenishes some of the nutrients.  Also since they say keep away from dairy products when you have diarrehea.  You will be fine and the baby too just remember to keep drinking liquids and if there is any blood go to the doc.

I had it when about 8 mos. with my daughter. I felt awful, but she was fine. Hope you feel better soon.

Fortunately for the baby it is well protected against anything like this that the mother feels. From food poisoning to really bad flu or cold. The baby takes what it needs first before the mother so it always has enough nutrients...that's why we must keep up our own. Be careful about getting dehyrdrated during food poisoning if throwing up and having diarrohea. Baby will be fine and eventually you will too!

Funny you posted this as I don't think I have food poisoning but I do have some sort of bug and feel awful.

^^My exact thoughts. I think I ate some undercooked chicken last night. I haven't been able to stop throwing up since last night, and my stomach is upset. I am 15 weeks 3 days and have not had morning sickness at all. So this is strange to me.
