I was just prescribed provera and I have 3 more pills after today. I know my dr said to that I should get it within two weeks after the last one (and if not, I need to have more testing done), but I was just curious as to when others got their AF with it. I just realized I should prob be ready for it while at work just in case.
No, provera just induces a period, it doesn't help with ovulation. The AF isn't a real one I suppose, it just helps get things started so then I can start over.
In the past I have had to take provera 3 times. I received my period 3-5 days after my last pill. I would be okay for about 8 to 9 months cycle and then my periods would again be 45-65 days between. I also had it use it before IVF in 2004 as they shut down my entire system and then started a medically supervised cycle. I didn't feel any side effects. It worked for me.
hi this is my 2nd cycle of Provera. i got af 5 days after my last pill. i had not had a af in 7 months after coming off birth control. my cramps were really bad. i forgot what it was like having af. also it made me moody towards my husband. but my doctor said it would regulate my hormones and make me have af on my own. do you have irregular cycles? why did your doctor perscibe for you? i hope that it helps.
