definitely sounds like an allergic reaction. did you go to the doctor or at least call? i don't want to scare you, but allergic reactions can be very dangerous. an infant at the center i worked at had an allergic reaction to a new formula. thank goodness we are all well trained in allergies. the teacher recognized it, and they called 911. (by the way, the baby didn't have symptoms util about 30 minutes after eating). the baby had to receive 2 epipens before even reaching the hospital. educate yourself on the signs of an allergic reaction. sometimes it's obvious like screaming. this child became lethargic instead. (you can research all signs online). since you don't know what ingredient in the formula caused the reaction, i would not try anything new until you speak to your doctor.
allergies are more common today than ever. and it seems the severity is increasing as well. often, the first exposure will cause either a mild or no reaction, and it is subsequent exposures that become more severe.
I think he is fine now since it happened on Sat. No, I was going to call 911 but after he threw up, he was ok so we let it go. He only a couple zip from the bottle and refused to eat and start screaming. Should I still call his ped.?
Hi, Dolly. Sorry Gavin is experiencing this. I would definitely call the dr and let them know that this happened to him. Like someone said, make sure not to introduce anything new to him before you find out what exactly triggered such a reaction. I hope the little guy is feeling better :)
i'd call and try to figure it out. they can do a blood test for lactose/soy allergies so if you need to try formula again, you can see if the soy kind might be taken better.
