Gestational Diabetis

I failed my one hour test....Any suggestions?  I am to go in for the 3 hour test.  Can anyone give me some insights?

I failed my 1 hour test as well and passed my 3 hour.  There was a post recently on exactly same thing and like it was mentioned there, most women fail the one hour test.  I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

Im sure you will be fine!!  Dont worry about it.  I know lots of people that have failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour.  They said the 3 hour test is a pain because you have to stay there.  Thats a long time to sit and wait for them to take your blood again!  Good luck, I am sure its nothing.

Thanks girl.  I am a little worry since I a have not been restricting my sweets....
I guess I will start now.  The nurse said the boarder line is 140 and I am at 164 so I guess I will look through some archives and see what's up with that.
If I fail the 3 hour test as well, where do I go from there?

Dont worry many people who fail the one hour pass the three hour, but if you dont pass( i failed all) its really not too bad, a diet change, more exercise, if that doesnt work then maybe insulin, but really i wouldnt worry, I had it, and my son was a healthy 8 lbs 12 oz (most gestational diabetic women have large babies) at 40weeks 2 days, the birth was a op vaginal, and my son is now a very healthy 15 month old so either way dont worry too much

Does it go away after the birth of my baby?
I did eat a small bowl of cereal 2 hours before the test, does it matter?  They say not to eat or drink anything 2 hours before the test...

Well I failed my one hour test last week and took the 3 hour on Tuesday.  Just found out the results today and it come back fine.  Like everybody told me don't worry about it.  Many people don't pass the one hour and are fine on the three hour.

I failed my one hour as well and passed my 3 hour. Just fast like you're supposed to and drink that nasty stuff is about all you can do! Good luck! :)

I just failed my 1 hr too and have to take the 3 hr on Monday morning.  They said to fast 12 hrs before and can drink water.  I heard to cut out carbs will help, not so much the sugar but the carbs are what you have to watch out for.  Good Luck.

I fast 2 hours before the 1 hour test per the instructions.  They say to eat a regular diet 3 days before I do the 3 hour test, and fast for 12 hours b4 the test.  I know you had it during your last pregnancy, can you give me more insights?  I am nervous.

I did the same thing with DD fasted a couple hours before and failed, this time I did not eat for 12 prior last meal 8pm had test done 8am and I passed with flying colors.  I failed the three hour one with DD I threw up so they just told me I had GD, so they put me on a diet and I had to go to a class and I had to test my blood when I woke up, an hour after breakfast, lunch, dinner and before I went to bed.

OIC, thanks!  I just do not understand why I would have it but I don't know that yet so we will see.  I do not want to be on a diabetic diet but I will do anything to make sure the baby is ok.
How are you?  Have you work things out with your bf?

You will be fine, I would suggest fasting for 12 hours prior, I read it on the bottle that you should fast that long too.  

We really didn't talk last night so I am assuming he was just having a bad day but we will see.  I am trying not to think about it as much.

I can't belive that you lil one is going to be here so soon.  I remember when you got your BFP.

I am definately fasting for at least 12 hours, it's going to be hard but I am not going to risk it.  It's just sucks to sit there and wait for 3 hours.  I will have to bring a book or something.
Well, I hope your bf will come around.  I know you love your little ones and you will be a great mom with or without a man in your life!
I know 82 more days before Gavin gets here.  I can't wait.  That's if Idon't go pass my due date.  Gosh, I hope not.
