Gestational sac, Yolk sac but no fetal pole or HB-Advice please!!

Just wondering if anyone has been through this. Came off the pill to start trying for a baby and after 1 period I fell pregnant (the test to confirm this was taken 4 weeks ago) the doctor worked out from my LMP that I was 6 weeks pregnant, at 9 weeks I had some spotting (the smallest amount) but went for an internal U/S just to be sure. At the U/S I was told that I had a gestational sac and a yolk sac but no fetal pole or HB and looked to be 4-5 weeks pregnant, I have to have a repeat U/S in 10 days. However as I had a positive HPT 4 weeks ago I don't know how I can only be 4-5 weeks pregnant and am really worried. Could the baby just be a slow developer? Has anyone else been through this?
Any comments/ advice will be greatly appreciated!! 10 days seems too long away!!

I am first time pregnant and went for ultra sound today and the study revealed gestation sac and yolk sac of 6 weeks 4 days eith no embroyonic cardiac activity seen.

i am very tensed

is it normal doctor has advised for another ultra sound after 10 days.

I wanted to share my story.  On Monday Dec. 14th I went in for my first ultra sound.  Based on my dates i should have been just over 6 weeks 6 weeks 4 days to be exact.  However the baby only measured at 5 weeks 2 days.  Since I just miscarried 6 mos ago at 21/2 mos and had to have a DnC done this really didnt look good.  I knew I was right on my dates for sure.  There was no heartbeat but there was a gestational sac and the yolk sac was a little too big.  The Dr wanted me to come back today on Friday to see if there has been any changes.  To my surprise there was a HUGE change.  There was a heartbeat and the baby grew a millimeter a day which is what it was supposed to do.  I was off on my dates turns out I ovulated later than i had thought and I am 6 weeks 1 day today when I thought I was 7 weeks.  I go back in another week just to make sure the heartbeat is even stronger and that the baby is even bigger.  I hope this helps it was agonizing waiting and I thought for sure I was going to get bad news.  It will be a merry Christmas afterall.

Hi everyone and to keekeepee..I'm so happy for you. I know that's the best Christmas a momy-soon to be could have. Anyway, I just had my first ultrasound today, they saw only gestational sac and that't it. No heartbeat which is pretty scary, they cannot calculate how far long i am since when i stopped birth control after 2 days i had my period then a month after got pregnant. The period that I have after the BC doesn't count as a regular period. they check on my hcg levels and its 3,000. I think i'm only 5 weeks pregnant. I'm seeing infertility right now since i had 3 miscarriages before i am currently on progesterone suppository 100 mg twice a day. I will have my next ultrasound on tuesday and I'm expecting to see the heartbeat.

I wouldn't worry at all. If you calculate you're 5 weeks, then an ultrasound would only be showing the gestational sac.  Did you have a trans-vaginal ultrasound?  You would have seen a little more than an abdominal us but still only a very small fetal pole.

Hey I am going threw that right now I had a miscarriage in oct got pregnant in december. Went in for the first ultrasound no fetal pole. About four days later had bleeding not a ton but enough to send urself into a world wind of a thoughts went into the er the doc said ur hcg levels have went up ur cervix is colsed but no fetal pole. So in the next couple of weeks ur going to miscarry my doc called me this morning and said that the doctor was crazy I. Wasn't going to but I still have my guard up because it will hurt so bad if I go threw it again please I know nobody knows us but please keep us in our prayers thank u
