Getting Pregnant on Clomid

by ready4baby09, Mar 05, 2009 01:12PM
Hi Everyone! I am 24 years old and have been married to my husband for almost 3 years. I stopped taking my b.c in October and jumped on the baby making train. After stopping my B.C I also stopped having a period. When I was younger I never had a regular period, but I thought with age this would change. Anyways My doc confimed that I was not Ovulating and put me on Clomid in the beginning of last month. I know it is probably too soon to test for pregnancy, right?? Or is it? I have been having sore breasts, cramping in my abdomin (abdomen) and in my back (ouch), crying for no reason, headaches and frequent urination. I have also been a little queasy here and there. I know these signs can also be attributed to my period being on the way, but, since I don't ge a period I have ruled that out. I am also wondering if most women who take clomid get results in the first month or if it needs to be taken for a few months? I am just anxious and looking for answers... thank you!

Did your dr confirm that you ovulated on clomid??  Some ladies need a higher dose to O.  If you took clomid in the beginning of last month it is not too soon to test.  You should take HPT and if it's negative and you don't have AF (your period) you probably did not O.  Unfortunately Clomid does not work for everyone on the first try.

Good luck to you!!

You should post on Fertility forum.  Lots of experts there...

Also the symptoms you describe are side effects of Clomid.   I got pregnant on my third round of Clomid 100mg with my daughter 3 years ago.   I am now ttc baby # 2 and am on Clomid. However the labs revealed the dose I am is not making me ovulate. So doc has upped it. Period is late for me as I did not ovulate. Hopefully it will show up soon.

To: hi!
Ready4baby- me previous/present RE told me that im not ovulating on my own...many tests/bloodwork should be done to rule out your case..as for me clomid is not working for me even at a higher dose not like others who take clomid and got preggy..bu for me as i get older clomid has less effect and not at all thats why my RE now took me to injectibles..i suggest you can go to Repro-endo they are specialized for the infertility women..since your still young you can have more time as your eggs by this time are still more..not like me..im 33yo..thats why were running out of time coz eggs are lesser compared to musch younger women like you..Hope it helps you decide!

Pls keep me updated!Be strong and hopeful!
